I don't think that anyone would classify any SEC team as a cupcake. Maybe not very good, but their on the field talent is much greater than ULL.

I don't think that you can mail in a win against Vandy or MSU. You probably could roll the ball out against ULL with no coaches and the players would win that game. That's a cupcake.

when our offense is as productive as its been this yr, then you cant mail in a win vs vandy or msu.

the last 5yrs, its a 2td win.

MISSISSIPPI STATE - 5/12 128 yds. 1td 0int.
GEORGIA - 7/13 64 yds. 0td 0int.
FLORIDA - 5/9 40 yds. 0td 0int.

WHile those stats aren't eye-popping 2nd half stats, they aren't terrible either. What you need to understand is that as you can see by the stats, we don't throw the ball that much. But, when we do, he does a good job. He completed 50% of his passes for an average of 13.65 yards per completion. THat is really good. So, maybe you shuold get off of his back and just accept that he might not be the best, but he isn't bad, and he will only get better. Go and look at some of these really good QB's that are playing now, and then look at some of their stats when they were playing in their first full year as starter. They didn't look much better than JJ. Let's let him play a little more and get a little more confidence and familiarity and then lets see what he does. I am willing to bet he might surprise you.

I'll play devil's advocate here.

Vandy ranks 72nd in total offense but only scored 3 points against Moo St.

Oh yeah, Houston ranks 2nd and scored 31 pts on Moo St., only 1 point more than us.

How can you look at that and not complain about the QB
let's see, JJ is only 19, has started 8 games total in his short career and hasnt played like the All-American QB SOME LSU fans think he should be...to be continued...

And he gets sacked 12% of the time he drops back, which is consistent with his stats last year. Can't blame the OL on that issue.

Jefferson has lead this team to 5-1 against decent competition, but Lee did exactly the same thing last year.. at least Lee scored us points.

We tried to passed, just JJ got sacked about 12 times in the second half of those games. About 100 yards of that 128 was two plays, the first play of the second half to BL and a pass to RJ Jackson with a alot of tough running after the catch. Maybe 4th quauter stats would make it more glaring. In these games JJ could have solidified the starting role with a definitive 4th quater drive. I have not seen that out of JJ yet.

all we hear about during a steelers game is Big Ben's magical ability to side step, move up or move back in the pocket to avoid the rush and how big and strong he is and so tough to bring down

Well maybe those people are wrong. NFL TV coverage is, bluntly, full of idiots. Once someone says something, they all just repeat it in the face of all contrary evidence. Big Ben looks like he should be tough to sack, so they all say he's tough to sack. But apparently it's not true.

I don't think he is regressing. However, as more teams get film on him, his tendencies to scramble too early, too hold the ball too long, not to step up into the pocket and otherwise be aware of the blocking around him, to run the option too deep and pitch too early, and to not disguise his handoffs and fake handoffs, become easier to scheme against. It's a learning curve, but I think there is some disappointment that he hasn't progressed with some of the more basic quarterbacking skills. He's a talented athlete, and should get better.
