I'd pick either Laron "Dirty Thirty" Landry or Quin Johnson. These guys put the fear into people.

ETA: I'd also add Trindon Holliday and Tyranne Matheiu to my list. Holliday was tough for such a small guy and Matheiu is a mini Laron Landry when it comes to his aggressive play style.

I used to watch Tommy Banks drag entire defenses down the field in high school as a fullback for West Monroe. I would venture to say he was as strong and likely stronger than Jacob Hester.

That would be Steve Rehage I believe--special teams specialist and the craziest mofo I've ever seen play the game. He would fly down the field on kickoffs like a guided missile, scary as hell. He get's my vote for top 5 here with Hester, Martin, Chad Jones, Laron Landry.

Art Cantrell - 1
Eric Andolsek - 1a
Jacob Hester - 1b

Many guys can be put in.

BTW, Andolsek and Hill inspired more fear than Laron.....simply from the fact that they were much larger and stronger and had equal the intensity. However, Andolsek wasn't mean, he was animalistic.....never ANY fear just pure rage. He wasn't about standing over a guys and taunting, he was about simply killing them at any cost on a survival level.

George Bevan, Art Cantrelle, Bobby Jo King, Sammy Martin, Herb Tyler and Jacob Hester. There are several I missed I'm sure, but this is a good list that goes all the way back to 1967.

Jerry Marchand. Once had his front teeth knocked out, put a rag in his mouth and went back into the game.

Going back to the Cantrell years, we should mention Ronnie Estay. Under-sized, but made All-SEC DT purely on toughness. Had to be double teamed to have a chance of stopping.

FWIW: Rehage: Apparently "crazy" was correct.

pound for pound.... Laron Landry has to be included.

Also, as small as he was, Trindon ran with no fear....full speed ahead.
