But do you think the handlers were retards? At any point when dealing with a 700lb meat eating cat, does it sound like a good idea to intentionally make him angry?

oh they did indeed "induce" him to growl. theiy didn't hurt him, they pissed him off; he would pace around the cage and growl occasionally.

Speaking of animals, he always reminded me of the Columbus Zoo animal guy that is on Letterman. Jack hanna

Pete Carroll is a closet homo sexual. A fig that used to work for me told me. He said that Pete actually had an operation to make his a-hole tighter than it already was.

I've always thought that Mike the Tiger should be freed from his bonds, released from his stifling cage, as nature intended. In Tuscaloosa.

I remember before PETA got us that we use to get the mascot mike to trot around the cage and then he would pull out a whip and crack it on side of the cage and the microphone would pick up the roar. It would pump me up so much to here that. True story of the 90's

Amen. Guy runs a dirty program and when he is about to get caught jumps ship to the NFL leaving USC to pick up the pieces. Dude needs an arse kicking.

Now-a-days Mike doesn't do anything but sit lay down in his travel cage. And that's IF we can get him into the stadium. FWIW, last week Mike made it into the travel cage, but not the stadium.

Was it just me or did it look like Mike was having a tough time with the heat? I saw him in the traveling cage close to the Indian mounds and he was laying down and not moving around or anything and seemed to be panting excessively. Being fairly buzzed I remember telling my friend next to me, dang dude Mike looks like he is about to pass out or something. This may be why they didn't take him in the stadium at all.

You think Pete was hiding the fact he tried to poke Mike himself?

Crankbait is an idiot. I agree that no one cares about Pete, but to justify prodding our mascot???

I have watched the games in Tiger Stadium for over 50 years and have never seen anything used to get Mike stirred up. During the ‘60’s they might bang on the cage with open hands – he usually just ignored them - but no one would ever even think of physically abusing Mike in any way.

Mike is the face and symbol of LSU, do you honestly think that anyone on campus would allow him to be mistreated?

I would call Carroll a lying sack of S***, but I would not want to insult the sack.

True or false? This would have been back in the day.

Probably not a cattle prod, but I believe that back in the day they did make an attempt to get Mike to roar at the visiting team.

Nowadays, Mike just sits there if he even comes out of his habitat. As another poster said, they pretty much let Mike do as he pleases now.
