Some good stuff in there Mike!

My perspective: I think he's gay.

A higher standard for smoking pot? If the answer is yes, then why are we failing to urine test the faculty, coaches, SEC executive, field officials, politicians, foremen, and executives? Because we can. Machiavellian (power politics). They might as well suspend most of the student body for a week if they want to make a meaningful example.
Urine testing for pot? Unbelievable. It is ridiculous to suspend an athlete for smoking pot. Or was this steroids or cocaine? That would be believable considering how hyped Mathieu and Ware are during games. But pot? For God's sake, alcohol and cell phones while driving are more dangerous than pot. Running the stadium steps would be more appropriate, assuming this is something worth testing for, and it isn't.
If they had been caught smoking pot by a coach or law enforcement, that would be a different matter because the law is the law. But pot smoking in your friend's apartment a day or so earlier? I am with the players on this.
Moreover, they are equating battery with pot. You get the same punishment for beating a guy up as getting mellow with friends?
Well I’ve exceeded my quota of sentence fragments. Why not test me? You would find no pot. And I am not criticizing the poster; I am just picking up on his theme.

Dean is right. People can say all they want but they did not want JJ to play and booed him. I'll buy someone saying that they booed to both send a message to JJ and Miles, but the vast majority were booing JJ at least in part. Low point of the season for me (even lower than today).
Fortunately, the next game in Tiger Stadium will be after we skulldrag Alabama so this will all be water under the bridge.
I just pray to god this (losing players plus a huge distraction) doesn't cost us a game against a team we should beat and thus the MNC.

The bigger question is will the "fans" BOO Ware, Simon, and Honeybadger when they return to the field.
Not a chance!

The reason he got high is because the Honey Badger nickname is bringing him so much pressure...I am blaming you for all of this!

Football. Nobody thinks this team is worse off with those guys off the field. Many thought the team was better with JJ off the field.
If JJ had been the leader of a prolific offense prior to his trouble and JL had been stumbling, the fans would've welcomed JJ back with zero reservations.

I think we just have to say okay you screwed up, you agreed to following the rules, and you also agreed to the punishments if you break those rules when you signed your LOI. End of story, you do the crime you do the time

Mr. Linebacker, I loved your post and agree with it all. You did leave out one thing that I would like to add though...
You failed to mention Leslie Miles. That man defends the hell out of these guys publicly and takes a lot of the heat for them, yet they allegedly do something like this and people will say dumb things like "LSU is out of control" and it makes Miles look bad (correct or not). I feel bad for Miles having to hold that press conference today (which is normal on a Wednesday) and having to address all the crap from the media. They have let him down, too.
