Even if LSU football wins games and pays for itself you cannot field a team if you don't have an operating school.

I understand that completely. Do you understand that if they start closing state community colleges and universities - which they probably won't, even though they should - that LSU will be that last one left?
LSU isn't closing, especially in the middle of the fricking semester. Not happening. CAN'T happen! Even our 144 idiots in the legislature realize this.

It's all coming down like a house of cards. The fifty year party is officially over. Uncharted territory ahead.

It's a threat to take away something people really care about. That way when he proposes drastic measures for something people are more accepting.
It's a very common political move.
No one wants to be the governor that killed LSU football.

Roll? Don't u mean role? Ahhh that's that redneck education. The typical follower mentality when it doesn't even benefit them. Just remember he is your govenor and your president too whether you like it or not. Deal with it but maybe you are to much of a frick boy to show some respect.
And u edited and still fricked it up lawd lol!

Yep. People think locally instead of what's happening globally, they don't see the big picture.

Recession =/= economy collapsing. You seem to be a prime example of how La. education isn't working. You can't even understand the most basic of econ. principles

I'm not a JBE supporter, but in his defense, the main theme of his address was "without add'l revenue here are some examples of what would have to happen to balance the budget." Some people needed to have their eyes opened. That's what he did. They'll never close LSU, but if I were a student on TOPS, I'd be worried. Something has got to change...
Jindal's lack of gubernatorial leadership, fiscal shell games and his pandering to Rebuplican Party national leaders put LA in the financial crisis we're in. The oil crash has exacerbated the problem, but is not the main cause. Jindal can be happy that he kept his "pledge" to Grover Norquist to not raise taxes, even if it was at the expense of his actual constituents. What a clusterfrick!
