LINK: Bobby Jindal is the one responsible for all the cuts to education, by pandering to Washington DC
Lobbyist - wanting to privitize public universities and colleges. The student athlete education is paid by Louisiana TOPS program like every student. PLEASE Research and see the damage Jindal has done to Louisiana while he was running for President pandering to Lobbyist in DC.

Jindal's lack of gubernatorial leadership, fiscal shell games and his pandering to Rebuplican Party national leaders put LA in the financial crisis we're in. The oil crash has exacerbated the problem, but is not the main cause. Jindal can be happy that he kept his "pledge" to Grover Norquist to not raise taxes, even if it was at the expense of his actual constituents. What a clusterfrick!

No he didn't - Blanco did. When Federal aid was given for hurricane relief she increased spending astronomically. When that aid ended, this is the mess that was left. She was even aware of it::
quote:

"I wouldn't characterize it as a time bomb," said LeBlanc, who dismisses the term as election-year hyperbole. "Yes, the next administration is going to have some challenges, but there's also every reason to believe there is going to be a substantial amount of revenue to deal with."
When aid ended plus the economy crashed (particularly oil), her actions killed Louisiana's budget. I'm no Jindal fan, but only the uninformed, dishonest or 'challenged' blame him for the fall out from what Blanco did.

Louisianas problems have been decades in the making. It has one of the highest per capita concentration of State employees in the country.

We are hearing the problem is the past 8 years and JBE is not to blame. Serious Question...Did JBE vote for the budgets when he was in legislature during that time period that got us here? I've been trying to find voting records. Anyone know? Just curious.

So let me see if I follow this: our state budget is a smoking crater the likes of which we've never seen following 8 years of Republicans controlling all aspects of state government

Uhh . . . NO.

That would be oil prices dropping by 2/3, and state royalty revenue going off a cliff because of it.

You da dumb mofo that needs to learn economics 101.

I get it, no taxes. Government services are free, just like Bobby Jindal said. Cut taxes to unsustainably low levels. Edwards hasnt been there but a few weeks but it's his fault.

Some of yall are so profoundly stupid that it is shocking.

We were at this same point last year, but the legislature and governor passed a half year, fake budget to put the problem, even larger, 100% in the new governor's lap. Then they snuck off.

It's past time to start living in truth.

Loll of you morons blaming Jindal for education cuts read the La constitution. A governor can only cut healthcare and education. There is so much other waste that should be cut but can't without a new constitution. But sure lets blame the guy who actually shrunk the state government and vote for JBE. The typical Louisiana voter is so uneducated on the real issues

bullshite!!!
Everyone who was not a tard saw this mess coming a year ago and this was before the oil prices dropped. Bobby J played every game known to man to hide problems and use one time funds to plug the holes in the damn. All to make himself look good to his perceived national republican base. Fail!
It's time to pay up now. No more fun and games.

Edwards is only going to make this worse btw.
