I don't think anyone knows. But, if I were reading between the lines, he's waiting on Kiffin and hasn't done anything else to prepare in case Kiffin doesn't come.

no. The biggest problem is that there is no credible information that indicates that we're doing any kind of search besides waiting on O's friend.

Like Chief for example. Unless there is a head coaching job involved (and not always that too) most assistants see their old team through till after the bowl game.

Well the Kiffin chatter is all unofficial speculation isn't it? I don't recall any official announcement to that effect. There might have been one so if you have information to the contrary I'd appreciate your sharing so I'm corrected.
So if indeed there hasn't been any prior official announcement why should I be concerned if there have been no subsequent information?

simmer down. i'm sure Coach O knows who he is hiring. any coach worth their weight in salt has a bowl game to coach. we surely don't want to get caught up in some contractual mess that will continue to distract from the team like the Chavis deal.

For all intents and purposes dec12-jan12 is a dead period in recruiting. Except for a handful of days.

If Coach O is still believing that Kiffin is coming, it's because Kiffin is coming. Period.
Kiffin has to get his offense ready for the playoffs and probably the championships game. The man is busy. Especially being that his QB is a freshman. He's busy.
Everybody needs to calm down a little bit and realize even if we don't get Kiffin.. the type of OC we need right now are popping up everywhere. This whole spread option offense has flourished and many many coaches have taken note and adapted to it.
Trust and believe.. next year LSU is going to be BIG TIME!!!

Well I have read articles that mentioned specific names. Canada, Briles were not mentioned but the list might not have been all inclusive.

Most candidates are still coaching their teams I assume. Just a guess.
Pretty sure Herman hasn't filled his staff out in the same time frame so there's that.
