This is what bothers me. Especially now that our two Quarterback commits are looking elsewhere after O offered the dude in Hawaii.

On the other hand, didn't Miles usually wait until after the bowls to hire someone?

What a gamble. I'm guessing they have a verbal agreement. I know O trusts Lane but this could really bite him in the arse if Lane gets a HC offer.

Most schools do but that's not good enough for the rant

So no OC for an entire month?

This reeks of major lulz.

Going to be a whole lot of lemons to make lemonade with after this Citrus Bowl methinks.

True, but the program at that point was well established. You have a new HC who doesn't specialize on any side of the ball, so you still are going at least a month without a real clue of what our identity will be on offense.

ST is being handled in house for bowl game only. There will be a new ST coach hired.

Same for OC. Ensminger will coach bowl game but new coach might be announced before then

Waiting to see how Ensminger does in the bowl game before offering him the OC position.

I'm not so worried about the OC. I do think it would be great timing to bring in the special teams coach.

Seems really dumb to rush the HC hire now. Almost like our administration has no idea what the fuch they're doing.

This program from the Admins down to the head coach is in the worst shape since the 1990s. HOW did this garbage happen?

So we're mad that the HC hire was too fast, and now we're mad that the OC hire is too slow?

Well, I mean, it's not a big deal, right? I mean, if O doesn't get Kiffin, there's a back up plan, right? I'm sure O will get us through this. Who was his coordinator at Ole Miss? I bet he's available.

There are only 3 advantages of playing in a bowl game: revenue, recruiting exposure, and practice time.

Not having an OC in place before the game means that you lose that extra month worth of valuable practice time to start implementing parts of your new scheme AND it blunts the recruiting advantage since offensive recruits may balk at deciding on a school when they have no idea what kind of offense that school will be running and what kind of coordinator wi be coaching them.

Not having an OC prior to the bowl game is a major disadvantage.
