seriously, we played a top 5 program on the road. and what this team is now =/= what this team will be in may or june

this is very obvious

1) Poche and Bouman have yet to play in the SEC (before vandy of course) , their struggles could well just have to do with first SEC game jitters all the best sometime take time to adjust to the big stage
2) Vandy is really good, I suspect they will win the SEC (or USCe) this year and probably have 20+ wins again, they are a very difficult team to start the year against.
3) from here on out LSU plays teams who are just as good or not as good as LSU. I suspect we win the majority of the series maybe lose one or two series from here on out.
4) this team has a-lot of young talent who are still developing. We have 2 new starting pitchers, a new 2B C 1B, and mixing in a couple other guys, when we reach post season play all these young guys will be battle tested and if they are going to be good they will start to show it near the end of the season.

[quoteI could have said this about all of our title teams at some point on the season. [/quote]

Well that would have been ignorant with some of those teams. I think we had some that didn't lose an sec series so I'm not sure why you would have.

It's funny though for this thread to be about ignorance for drawing a conclusion about this team b/c they lost 2 of 3 on the road...if we swept or won the series it would be just as ignorant to draw a conclusion about this team correct?

Vandy had some errors this weekend actually a good bit of errors this weekend. Who cares, good teams take advantage of errors. LSU did that Friday night, not so much today.

UCLA took advantage of teams errors and won the World Series.

Sure it's better to get Earned runs vs scoring on errors, but just because we don't always score ER doesn't mean we don't have a chance to win it all.

Yes it would have been. And just an FYI none of our title teams went the whole year without losing a series.

Im sure most coaches will tell you they'll take any run that crosses the plate no matter how its scored.

Vandy gave up 5 Earned runs this weekend LSU scored 10. Keep in mind that one error in an inning can lead to 0 ER and multiple runs.

LSU on friday night put up 4 runs in the 8th all unearned. That is LSU taking advantage of a situation that was given to them by Vandy.

Vandy came back and beat us twice like a good team does.

Both teams have a good outlook this season, Vandy I would say better than LSU.

I hope our hitting & young pitching can progress. We know our chances of winning game 1 of the series is virtually a lock with Nola. When it's said & done, win the west, get a good seed in the tourney, win a few & finish with a good enough record to host a regional. A Super Regional may not be in the cards this year but just get that regional (and win it). Super regional, anything can happen.

I cook eggs very well thank you. I'm just saying our hitting sucks period. You people take everything so personal like people are attacking LSU. I'm not attacking LSU I LOVE LSU. My 6 year old and 3 year old can sing fight song and alma matter I love LSU and spend a ton of money on LSU. If you can't see over the last several years our hitting sucks when we play the top notch competition then one you have no idea about hitting or two your retarded.

Please explain to me how our hitting for the entire season sucked last year. I'm sure you will try and find a way.

its not that man, just have some patience. this team will come together, it was a tough road series. If they had been able to play a game tomorrow I think they would have done much better. Poche would have had an extra day's rest.

We possibly played the number one team in their backyard this weekend. Winning one game is better than getting swept.

I think this series with Vandy will help these young pitchers and players grow up a little bit. This experience will be valuable down the road.

LSU played 4 games against top 10 programs so far. The record is 1-3. This team will grow during the season and we have 9 series left. 27 SEC games to play.

Pitching will be key to winning a future Regional or Super. This weekend should have helped mature the youngsters on our pitching staff. Plus...it helps put a chip on the shoulders of players going forward.

Vandy did not go to Omaha last season. We did. Anything can happen. Players should know what to expect when they arrive at LSU. This weekend will help settle down the nerves of the young staff.

It's cool it was a tough loss. Did we not hit?? YES

Do I hate LSU? NOT AT ALL

I stand corrected

I do remember getting swept by Kentucky in either 91 or 93 early in the sec
