Pat Forde's Les Miles reference

We also anticipated a leisurely Big 12 title-game stroll for Texas over Nebraska, as the South Division giant routinely poleaxes the North Division pip-squeak. The game turned into a life-and-death struggle down to the final gun, with the Longhorns flat-out lucky to win and avoid a clock-management fiasco of Les Milesian proportion.

You know, I almost posted a , but it really disturbs me deeply that we are that much of a national laughingstock.

I've said "Milesesque" a couple of times now. Texas was definitely one of them.

Tom Luginbill of ESPN got on Local Radio here in Charlotte and basically said that Brown could have looked as dumb as Les Miles but got lucky.
He said that it was out of character for Brown, but Miles has had a history of making stupid mistakes.
We may have to endure this for a while until someone eclipses him.

I agree. There is no way with the talent pool Texas has to pick from that they shouldn't be in the title game every 3-4 years.

That's fine to adapt that attitude. But if LSU beats down Penn St. in the Cap One then you'd better leave the "we" out of that too because that win will be a Lesism. Gotta take the good with the bad my man.

Mack Brown's error was 23403284384 times worse than Miles's...

As long as Les is HC at LSU, it's WE. I don't think he's a great coach myself, but he IS LSU's head football coach. Therefore, what he does during his tenure represents LSU.

Les Miles actions have invented their own adjectives now

Terrible decision by UT (Mack & McCoy), but it wasn't worse than Miles....only a bigger stage.
Miles let 17 (that's 17) seconds run off the clock b4 calling TO & his was a series of stupid decisions (Crowton also, to be fair). McCoy ran an extra stupid play. Both were stupid, but no way Mack was worse.
& Miles has a history of buffoonery. That's why he is a national punchline and joke.
He's the face of the LSU program.

Man, I thought Mack Brown had taken a crash course at the Les Miles School of Time Management.

The error that resulted in losing to Ole Miss simply changed LSU's bowl destination from Orlando to Dallas (at that time).
Brown's error almost cost him a chance at a national title.

he represents LSU, but I think he has elevated himself to a level where the news media does not even associate the LESisms with LSU anymore.
...hell, they did not understand him at OK St either.

It could be debated that Mack Brown's time management on that play was worse than Miles'...
There was a national title berth on the line in that game...my heart sank when I saw the clock tick to zero. I thought I was witnessing the worst coaching (and player) decision ever in college football...it still has to rank up there...
