It's never a good thing when you have 4 RBs and the two who are good at pass protection is the one who hasnt played much so far, and a true freshman.

I saw Blue make a couple of pretty good blitz pickups in the first two games. He is definitely more improved than Hilliard or Ford. Getting him back healthy before UF will be a big plus. He and Ware will make a great combo. Blue has more breakaway capability and Ware just plays his arse off all the time.

I agree, but he isnt healthy right now. This is more critical of Hillard and Ford.

I doubt that he'll be back for Florida. Even if he is, it might take him a few games to get back to his old form.

These discussions are like last year with the QB controversy. You have one group analyzing the game for team weakness/why there was a lack luster performance and there's the group that says "negatiger", 17-1, nothing to see here. Just like last year, people can see the weakness and realize it's just a matter of time before a quality coach exploits it.

WOW! I guess we should just accept the fact that we're going to be 4 and 8 this year. Next year, when you're in the coaches box we'll go 13-0.

The only O line better that LSU's is possible bama. Wake up.

See no one said anything like this. The fact that these are the responses to legitimate questions are the reason no one enjoys the Rant.

The problem is retarded fans think a philosophical offensive change can occur overnight. Also what do the fans want? Passing for 350 a game while running for 100-125? If that is what they want they are fricking stupid. It has been proven by bama and LSU that a strong physical running game along with a great defense wins games. Of course we need work on our passing game but you don't change who you arte to do so. We are bringing along a first year starter at QB. We have young recievers. The fans just need to chill the frick out.

Pretty much correct. Anyone with an intact cerebellum who actually watched the game Saturday night would acknowledge that the offense did not play well. We turned the ball over in critical situations. We committed needless, dumb penalties. The pass protection was atrocious. The WR's dropped passes and failed to consistently separate from defenders. The run blocking was erratic. The playcalling was suspect, predictable, and uninspired. These truths are obvious to any objective observer. Christ, immediately following the victory Miles himself stated that the Tigers were "sloppy."

Now, does that mean these deficiencies are uncorrectable? No. Does it mean LSU will certainly lose to Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama? Of course not. But are these points legitimate reason for concern and for disappointment about the performance Saturday night? To any rational human being, yes.

Nonetheless, if one has the temerity to point out the obvious and the indisputable about LSU's offensive play on Saturday, he/she will be forced to endure the petulant name calling of reactionary buffoons who will mischaracterize everything he/she wrote, invoke the nonsense term "negatiger," and pretend that the essence of devotion to LSU football is blind sycophancy. It's tiresome.

I think the OP overstates the case. We can improve with proper coaching. I hope we play better against Florida in The Swamp. It would be a shame to lose to those classless assholes.

Pass routes suck and our recievers do not run them well. No creativity = no separation.

You can only play with the players you have. Our WRs as a group are below par. Very shaky hands other than Boone, who inexplicably is not starting. On top of that, our WR consistenly stick to the defenders like glue. We can't get separation and I believe it is half due to passing play design. Good OCs design plays where at least one guy gets open by scheme alone regardless of the WR talent. We have no creativity.

can't argue with that.

I just have a hard time understanding why we have two OL playing out of position . JD is a guard; he's really good against the run, but gets exposed in the passing game. Collins is a natural tackle; he has great feet making him effective in passing blocking but struggles to get the push needed on the inside on running plays.

It seems like the solution is obvious, but what do I know?
