He's not physically ready. Did you see the pounding Etling was taking. Etling's frame can handle some contact, as evidenced by his hard running. Brennan would get obliterated against those men. 10 pounds will do him well come next year.

Brennan won't be called upon to run like Etling as that isn't part of his skill set. And perhaps Brennan could mitigate the beating by getting rid of the ball quicker or making quicker reads. It's not established whether he can or not but to suggest that because Danny gets hit means that Brennan will take a similar degree of contact is not necessarily true.

Also, 10 pounds isn't going to protect him from shots to the ribs, knees, whatever. This is a silly argument. If the kid is mentally prepared and has the talent, then he is ready to play. The claims he isn't "physically" ready are nonsense.

why do you people consistently be assholes? I'm assuming you are being an a-hole, otherwise you are just simple.

Because none of these losers have ever taken a snap at the JV level much less the college level. Pretty much 97.8% of the turds on here are douchbags that have fantasy football draft parties.

He looked more ready than Brennan. Brennan is averaging a pick every 6-7 attempts.

uh, no its not. Etling is scrambling, not sitting in the pocket taking rib shots.

putting a skinny pocket passing kid behind a poor oline just in time for UF and Auburn is fricking stupid.........I'm sorry you can be reasoned with. that's your problem though

Apparently we forgot about he last time we trotted out a highly recruited, highly touted freshman quarterback for his first SEC start/game.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo how will he be ready next year????

Is this a real question?

It's called practice, strength and conditioning and maturing. Literally every football player on planet earth should progress year over year. Particularly ones at this high of a level.

Exactly, other coaches in college FB say the same or very similar things about their players....rates a Chris Carter 'c'mon man' that people turn this statement into a big deal.

Yet, this staff strung Scott along to the point of him transferring.

I don't think Scott would have been a superstar, but give the kid a chance, he seemed to be an option we could have used.

Brennan is VERY talented, VERY bright future, but starting as a true freshman in the SEC is a challenge few are ready for.

Dude will not be ready for another 3 years minimum. Next year is going to be ugly with him as QB. Worse than Etling.

Hence why I used the word "if" in front of what you quoted. You oddly left that out. And my use of "it's not established if he can or not."

Go back and work on your reading comprehension please.

This doesn't address the point I was making. So Brennan is not ready but if he was 10 pounds heavier, he'd be good to go?

So because I don't think the argument that Brennan is "not physically ready" is convincing, I can't be reasoned with?

So has was Scott "strung along until he transferred"?
Just what was done by LSU to string him along?
Did Harvard string him along by not accepting him for admission?
Did the measuring tape string him along by not registering 6'1" ?
