Call it pumping sunshine if you like but I'm pleased with the defense so far.

Take away the interception that put them at the 1 yard line and we held them to 14 points and 255 yards.

We are generating a ton more pressure on the QB than years past. Key has me all kinds of excited. (As long as they teach him to stay onsides) Neal has looked solid.

3 INTS last night from some young guys KT2 JA33 and DJ45 with the pick six

Also we are young, these guys will continue to improve. In the coming weeks we will also be adding mills to the mix.

Call it how you want, I'm excited about the D moving forward.

Neal is a beast. Not having bower hurt. Linebackers in coverage was my only real concern. White and KT2 are very good. Adams and Jefferson have been solid all year.

I thought our defensive playcalling was very bland last night.

EMU didn't seem to have much trouble moving the ball last night. That's worrisome. Hopefully just the competition that night.

I don't really like what Steele does against spread concepts. This opinion is not based on what I saw last night, though that didn't help my perception. I have a lot of question marks about him that I hope he resolves this season.

Yea I would like bringing 5+ with pressure more often. Also would like to see stuntz and delayed blitzes like we did ealier in the year.

I feel like we should have dialed it up numerous times last night give these guys a chance to have some fun getting after their QB.

Also has it been talked about that his name was Brogan. I couldn't get over that.

I think they were on the wrong drugs...

\\\

They lacked interest. Inexcusable.

That's what I said. It's cool to see a pick six. I'd like to see more picks moving forward. I think people will adopt that dink/dunk shite against us and it'll cause us some pain, but we'll also force some turnovers, and get some sacks.

I think this defense is still a major strength. We'll do some great things against Alabama, and will give up a couple of touchdowns to Ole Miss and Florida. But I don't see anyone really ripping this defense apart, especially when Mills gets back.

They played kinda sloppy. Atleast 1 busted coverage, a couple of offsides penalties, and a few missed gap assignments, some missed tackles too.

But it's very clear they have the potential to be a great defense especially if/when they get a relatively healthy Bower and Jalen Mills back.

Best play of the night was the DL stunt where Key put pressure on the QB resulting in a pick 6 by Debo.

Yeah, EMU played great. That QB did a great job, though his stats say different.

I just think we're not giving anyone film to work off. Why run delayed blitzes and stuff on EMU? It would get us reps, but we get those in practice. Challenge the kids by being vanilla.

That's kind of our style.

same here. I am hoping to see more DB's at LoS or at LB depth, sometimes blitz, sometimes not. Confuse the dink-n-dunk that the spread eventually turns into when a team can't run (hello- OM). Yeah, will be taking risks but we need to be more disruptive.

Some good things. Not the best LSU defense but should be sufficient, barring injuries, to contend

He has been conceding the easiest throws on the field. In red zone and tight areas, he concedes every time the bubble concept or the flat attack that results in touchdowns. The unofficial tally is two to state (one touchdown one 2 point conversion), one to syracuse, and two to EMU. Make these nancy's throw a deep ball on you. shite that's what the entire country does to Harris.

His use of Thomas as a cover guy when he clearly isn't suited for it is another problem.

It looked like to me we were sleep walking through the game. I think the players just took for granted that they were the better team. I think the players don't play aggressive enough and sit back too much.

How often do we run dime?

It seems like we run nickel all game no matter the down and distance (besides 3rd and short)

Most of the second half chunks given up on D this year were down field in coverage against a LB with a huge lead. Deon jones and beckwith should not be expected to cover deep downfield in obvious passing situations with our talent and depth in the secondary

When has LSU ever contended without an elite defense? 2003, 2007, 2011 all had elite defenses. 2007 did have their bad games however. And all of those offenses had more efficient QB play as well (lee 11')

This year feels like 2013, fun/historic players to watch on offense, with subpar defensive production by LSU standards. 2-3 losses would not be surprising

Dwayne Thomas is a definite weak link. He's a reincarnation of Danny McCray, only he plays nickel.

I'm worried about match ups that Freeze, Kiffin and Sumlin will dial up against us. Misdirection a and match ups on our lb'ers in general.
