Do not send CLM packing unless you have a top notch coach lined up and ready, please don't make this a 3 month debacle and us end up hiring some longshot. If you can't replace him this year continue your search into next year and make a great hire when the chance arises. I'd rather 8-5 next year with good recruiting and a slam dunk hire for the future than a 5 year lull.

And do you remember when Saban announced he was leaving? We could of went after Spurrier or Urban but it was too late. What makes you think next year there will be more prospects?

Idk when there will be more prospects I just know another year buys time with coaches and decreases buyout , therefor we could pony up more money and throw at the right guy. I'm all for a change and believe with the right guy LSU can have a dynasty. Just don't want to see a bad hire made that cost us 5 years of relevance

If Alleva were dumb enough to do this, LSU would be over a barrel and we'd be screwed.

Who exactly are the "prospects" this year?

According to the rant we have unlimited funds to buy out miles and the new coaches buyout and pay him whatever he wants.

Why not let Miles have a chance to fix it.
You want Jimbo Fisher. He's not leaving FSU in any rush...he'll be available in a year.

I'm not thrilled about back to back Music/Independence bowl trips, but we were a few breaks away from going back to back BCS Champs in 2010 & 2011.

Cam Newton game at Auburn, should have won. Another Aub. Guy got loose on one play in the 4th. Lost by a TD.

2011- we all know.
It's too late now.lame duck issue..with last week's story, etc. I was just meaning all the big time money people, Alleva sitting pat without any stories, letting it ride this year.

And what happens to next years recruiting class under that senario? No lame duck coaches.

So LSU spends 4M+ salary to save 2M in buyout for Les and whatever the assistants will get?

Because that makes him a lame duck. No players are committing when they know they coach is a dead man walking. You've just set recruiting--and, thus, the program--back a few years.

Prospects now? If yo want him gone then you start contacting agents right now. Many coaches will be leaving before their bowl games. If we wait too long, then we will have a shorter list come December.

Admittedly I don't know how his contract is structured with buyout , but I do assume by using simple math you could add whatever your going to pay the new coach to what we would save. My point was just that a bad hire here would be much more detrimental to the program than another so so season with good recruiting. Some of the names I've seen thrown out there are comical.

I don't trust Alleva at all. He is a arrogant arse. Never like the guy, he is just not the type of person LSU needs.
