He's not running it, he's teaching concepts

An OC does a lot more than teach.

I remember our offense and team in general looked much better once CLM was fired. Many fans were happy about the re energized team. I still have never said that was SE offense...sure he was calling the plays but the offense wasn't changed between week 4 & 5.

Agreed.

The ‘16 game against Bama, which is the closest O has played them, is more of a reflection of Miles than O for sure

Miles was so much more competitive against Bama it isn’t even funny

Doesn’t matter. Arkansas has scored on these dudes.

Bama has to actually get up for 3-4 games a year tops. I can assure you with a bye week leading into the LSU game every year and Saban having coached here they put more into playing LSU than Arkansas. So Arkansas gets beat 65-31 against an uninspired bama team...so what. I don't know if yall remember but bama was being called out big time for the schedule they had played prior to LSU. Just added more motivation for them to beat our arse.

Yeh arguably our best team ever scored 9 pts in 8+ qtrs vs bama and lost 21-0 in one of the most dominating defeats I have ever seen in a national title game...very competitive a loss is a loss...I guess yall count moral victories since we couldn't beat bama...hey we lost by less with Les

Will that in able us to be more competitive in regard to winning the west? I have no idea and I don’t see how anyone else does either at this point in time.

oh wait nevermind...in one comment you are saying it appears we are making changes to improve. Most people would think improving would mean a better chance to compete to win the west...great logic

We had an OC who outgained Bama in 2017 and if Etling connects on those long balls to chark we might’ve won that game.

yeh b/c bama gets up for teams like the Citadel right? How many teams face bama in november after they get a bye? Every year bama uses our game to prove to everyone they are legit...they are probably as motivated to play us as they are for Auburn.

Look man, the time for excuses is over.

We're excited to see what Brady can do for this offense. We have enough to look forward to. Don't make excuses for past failures. It happened, it's over.

I’m so confused. What is happening in this thread?

Are people complaining about O hiring Joe Brady and allowing him to revamp the passing game?

Op starts a thread about how the players like Joe Brady and think he’s the future at OC and rantards somehow turn it into a discussion of whether O or Miles was better at losing to Bama...

God forbid we have a thread focus on something positive.

Who cares that offense looked like it is taking a huge step in the right direction during the spring game? We should bitch about Bama.

He said we have brought in players and staff/personnel which might improve our offense but whether or not we actually do improve on offense and that, in turn, means we are more competitive with respect to winning the West remains to be seen. What's your confusion?

I dont think you understand how this works. Ensminger is calling the plays, he's not necessarily DESIGNING all the plays. Brady was brought in to bring in new passing concepts, he's in charge of how we throw the ball, but not how it's executed in-game necessarily.

Kind of ridiculous how some folks just cant accept we're trying to improve ourselves here and when something MIGHt be going in the right direction with a new hire still find a way to rip the guys who made it happen?

It certainly wasn’t our best offense ever

I appreciate you passing on the positive news. Some of these guys just can't handle hearing about positivity surrounding the football program, for some reason. I've been negative about the offense, and in our passing game in particular, for years now. This year, there is certainly a different vibe around Tiger football for me. People want to bash Ensminger, but the man deserves credit for humbling himself and stepping aside to allow Brady to work his magic. I applaud the whole staff.

“ no doubt it’s his offense now”

You must have missed that part of the post I was responding to which was directly referencing Joe Brady as running it.

Wasn't me. Everybody I know on the team tells me that without Joe Alleva the team would be nowhere near where they are.

They say the whole coaching staff are just figure-heads and Joe does all the recruiting, technique and technical teaching of the players. Grant and JaCoby absolutely love him. They say that without him LSU wouldn't have even been ranked at the end of last season much less in the top 10.

This is what I have been told by people with the team. Take it with a grain of salt. They may have been exaggerating a little.

Tell me how improving our offense doesn't make us more competitive when it comes to competing for the west. Are you not one of the fans that believes offense is holding us back?

So right now you don't think our offense will improve next year? Are you incapable of putting 2 and 2 together? this is what the confusion is...if improving offensively isn't what we all have been saying is needed to improve our chances for competing for the west what is?
