Went several years ago and we flew into Kansas City, rented a car and then made the two hour or so drive to Omaha. Stayed in Lincoln, which is about 45 mins away.

That’s why I bit the bullet and bought 4 tickets for both games Monday, hoping that we’re there for the night cap. The loser’s bracket games were like $8/each plus fees

Where in the world did you get tickets for 8 dollars?? When I looked a couple of days ago the cheapest I saw was 45 dollars each for the early games and 150 dollars each for championship series games??

Well I believe I answered my own question. I went and looked again and right now the prices for game number 9 are 8 dollars. It also states this is a standard priced ticket. All of those higher priced tickets are verified resale tickets.

With that said I think I have figured out a CWS ticket purchase strategy but regretfully it is way too late for this year. Back in April or so single game tickets went on sale. I did not buy any because I had the attitude of why should I when I did not know if LSU would make it there. Even if they did make it what games would they play in?? Well apparently most of those tickets sold out pretty quick regardless of anyone not knowing what teams were going to be there. It looks like if I had bought 2 tickets for every game as soon as they went on sale I would have spent around 300 dollars. Then it appears if LSU did not make it I could have easily made my money back selling them as a verified resale ticket.

So next year when April comes along I may buy tickets as soon as they go on sale. Has any veteran of CWS trips here been using this strategy lately? They may not have because from research it looks like the general admission ticket book option went away just recently with all of the COVID mess.

The transportation option that's runs around downtown is called the CWS Circulator. I don't know how to link it maybe someone can.

Game 9 is the wrong game

Maybe you are making the point that 8 dollars was the price when you got your game 7 tickets as well

A lot of good info in this thread. I’ve only been once and it was in 2009. My dad and I flew into Des Moines (cheaper flights) and rented a car. It’s about a 2 hour drive. The whole experience is fun. We met people who went up without even going to the game. Just tailgating.

there is a pretty good Air Museum about 45 min outside of Omaha headed to Lincoln. Also Nebraska campus is about an Hour or so drive. Stadium has the Heisman room were you can see them, and they had a gate that lets you walk into the staduim. A cant miss is the old Rosenblatt homeplate park, which in in the parking lot of the zoo.

No Sir I have not bought any tickets at this point. The only point I am making is if you look at the price for game 9 right now, or at least a little earlier this morning, it states this is a standard ticket. Then if you look at the other games with the higher priced tickets they are being resold.

It appears that game 9 was not sold out back in April so they are still available for a standard price??

It will be interesting to find out from folks who go to Omaha this year without getting tickets first, what it is like getting tickets after they got up there.

My Dad went a couple of times back in the 90’s and he said back then they got in line every morning at the box office to buy them for the day. It is apparently not like that anymore. He also mentioned the General admission ticket books you could buy at the grocery stores. Those are long gone also.

I am sure you can still get them after you are up there but apparently that will be online digitally and it will just be interesting to hear how that goes. I am going to use info from this year to build a strategy for coming years.

Give me your tips and tricks please.

Not sure if it still hold true but in the past a pro tip was to fly into KC and rent a car to make the 2-12 hour drive to Omaha.

You'll likely want a car anyway and in the past, flying into KC saved you big money...we did it in 2009 and our flight was full of old LSU fans who had made many trips. Sat next to Chris Guillot on the plane and had good talks with him. I know people dog him here a lot but he was nice and gave us tips for the trip.

Staying at the team hotel was fun too, there was always a crowd watching other games in the lobby and it was fun when the players would come and go. After games it was a cool mini-party in the lobby when the team bus would arrive back at the hotel and they would file in.

just did a quick check and tickets are 50-75% higher into Omaha than they are into KC.
