Anyone know if Harrah's in Council Bluffs offers a shuttle to and from the stadium?
If you’re up for it, you’re close enough at Harrahs to walk to and across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrial Bridge. The bridge is pretty cool, but not as cool as the locals make it out to be.

Having a late Saturday game helps with travel.

Highly recommend seeing this.
Took my grandsons when it was in NOLA two years ago. It’s pretty cool for kids.

Looking like I’m leaning toward going all week.

Good info here… I may book a place in Council Bluffs too if offering shuttle service.
I assume LSU is home team for game 1 given our seeding… has that been confirmed?
I don’t want to buy tickets and find out I’m behind the Tennessee dugout on Saturday .
TIA

Good info you laid out here

Any info on parking at the park (ie. paid, free, traffic issues, etc)?
We're driving up and have a hotel booked on the outskirts of Omaha.

I've been to Omaha a couple of times and drove both. If I were able to go, I'd fly into Kansas City (MCI), rent a car and drive to Omaha. It's about a two hour drive from there. I also got tickets at the stadium (old Rosenblatt) but don't know what it's like now they've moved to TD Ameritrade (or whatever it's name is now). It's a long drive but very doable.

For those who have made the drive from BR- is it worth it to go through Hammond up to Memphis/ St Louis/ KC as opposed to driving through BF Arkansas on some 2 lane highway? It looks like it'll add about 30-45 minutes to the drive but I'm not splitting hairs between 15-16 hours. Just seems like a much easier drive going interstate the entire way.

I have done this drive many times and going through Arkansas has always been the best. Going up 55 you can get caught in memphis and st. louis.
Going though Arkansas is not a bad drive at all.

From South Louisiana I’d drive vs fly. Time wise it is a huge difference but west and tear more so.
Can’t help with lodging I have cousins in Omaha and last time I went my son also lived there.
There are several good steak houses and Italian restaurants in Omaha - trust high star/high count yelp reviews.
A few of my go tos are:
Mahogany prime
Sullivan
801 Chop House
Spezia
Biaggis
The zoo is absolutely worth a visit. If you have a car and are into planes/military stuff the SAC museum out toward Lincoln is awesome as well.
I’m racking my brain trying to remember the ice cream shop that everyone loves and can’t remember it but it’s a landmark as well.

Coneflower Creamery
However Dairy Chef in Elkhorn is also a favorite of locals. The tower is 2 feet of soft serve.

If anyone has tips for buying tickets outside of the stadium on Saturday and Monday please share! My dad and I are planning on making the trip for the first time and the prices online are just outrageous. Thanks!

That’s why I bit the bullet and bought 4 tickets for both games Monday, hoping that we’re there for the night cap. The loser’s bracket games were like $8/each plus fees, so I’m not out much. Could I have gotten a better price for the winner’s bracket game? Probably so, but I’ve got two young kids and my wife with me, and things like not looking into the sun, aisle seats, good view, and not wasting time in line or searching for tickets was worth the price.
I’m on-call all weekend so I took Monday off and we’ll make a day of it. We’re only 2 hours away.

If you have the choice, I'd recommend flying to Kansas City and renting a car there.
The one time I went in 2003, it was something like an 18 hour drive each way, and trust me, you're gonna be really thrashed when you finish the trip.
It's not like you're gonna be missing out on a stunningly beautiful drive a la Pacific Coast Highway, so just remember that as well.

parking at the park
There was no parking lot at the stadium in 2017—it’s in a downtown area so there is street parking and a few pay lots available. I parked under the interstate about two blocks from TD Ameritrade—think it was $20 for the day. If you are staying downtown you can probably walk or rideshare to the stadium. Looks like they’ve built some lots since then.
Was living near KC at the time so it was an easy trip up and back for a day game, as long as I-29 hasn’t washed away in some flood. Pretty much no traffic from KCI all the way to Omaha.

Stayed in downtown Omaha - 2 LSU CWS ago - there was awesome public transportation- big rectangle ~ 16 blocks long uptown to river - TD Ameritrade Stadium x a few blocks wide . Was 50cents to get on then . Get off anywhere ya want - bars , restaurants, etc . I think it’s called the LOOP . Park at ya hotel .
