I don't think the SEC has ever had this many mediocre coaches. It's Nick Saban and everyone else.

Yeah, Bert at number 5.

IMO Orgeron should be down near the bottom because he's an unknown. Ranking him above people with SEC experience or extensive head coaching experience doesn't seem logical.

Only ones I take issue with is Freeze, Muschamp, and Sumlin. I would personally put Freeze either 3 or 4 but I think the NCAA investigation knocked him down here. Muschamp and Sumlin are too high: Muschamp failed at Florida and USCe was terrible last year; Sumlin was good when he had one of the best college QBs ever (then again you could argue the same with Malzhan).

I rank them in tiers:

1- Saban

2- Freeze, Mullen, Butter-teeth

3- Bert, Stoops, Mason, Sumlin, Malzhan

4- Muschamp, Jones

TBD(5) - Smart, Odom, Orgeron

Yep, respect is earned in most cases. Not all, but Ed will be just fine.

I'm optimistic, but it does sound sorta hopeless that we have Ed Orgeron contend with Saban.

And you are just hoping he goes 4-8... you are proving you are not a fan of O since he did such a good job last year.... you have done nothing but bash him since he was hired. You are a bandwagon fan who has never set foot on the campus....

I'm at every single home game.
The hypocrisy with you is glorious.
You bashed a lsu coach for years. A lsu coach tbat had actually accomplished great things.
I stated a fact about O. Deal with it.
Every sec head coach has a better resume than O.
Every sec coordinator has a better resume than O.

That doesn't mean he can't be successful at lsu. Maybe if you paid attention to the title of the thread, youd understand my post.

So you're counting games where he didn't run the offense, didnt run the defense, didnt hire the staff, and had nothing to do with the stars of 2016 being at lsu as running a program?

Dan Mullen is the most underrated football coach in America because he is stuck at a school he has zero chance of winning a championship at

He is most definitely underrated.

Mullin gets every drop of potential out of his players. Can you imagine what he could have done with the talent lsu had under Miles?

We were stupid for not even offering him the job. He would win several championships at LSU because he would give us the one thing that has been holding us back. A viable QB.

Not just that. His system is very qb friendly and his in game adjustments are top notch and he uses those adjustments well without the type of depth lsu has.

I don't get the love for Mullen... 8 yrs with 3 above average seasons and he is the second best coach in the SEC. They were 6-7 last year... What gives?

Two years with Dak at QB with 10 and 9 win seasons... Not impressed.

We traded a coach ranked in the top half last year for one ranked almost dead last this year. Sounds about right for the fricked up Alleva process.

Yes I am. Youve never been to Baton Rouge, let alone TS. Everyone knows what you look like. Post 1 pic of you at TS.

Why does this bother you so much????

Because you can't see youre being a massive hypocrisy.
If questioning the lsu head coach means you want that coacb to fail, then you wanted miles to fail every year.
But alas you don't apply the same logic to yourself .
You deem your bashing of Miles was justified and doesnt mean you wanted him to lose.
Me stating FACTS about Ed Orgeron means I want him to fail.
How can you not see this?

No I'm trying to get football ignorant posters like you to apply the same logic to every lsu coach.

That's an opinion. Its pretty funny watching you change the narrative. So now it's deemed successful when we play well against cupcakes but struggle against decent defenses.
Sounds exactly like the seasons that you blasted miles for.
