There were probably quite a few college coaches in portsmouth today watching their respective players play in the PIT. the PIT is close to the norfolk airport. shaka was there tonight w/one of the VCU assistant coaches to watch our one senior brad burgess play. O'Quinn from Norfolk state is playing so i would imagine evens was there to see him play too. I dont see blaine taylor as a viable candidate. ODU has never done anything in the tourney. They never make it past the first round. He is not exactly highly thought of at odu. He has no ties to louisiana at all. Alleva could have been meeting with any # of college coaches who were in town to watch one of their players. A friend of mine is there for the tourney. I will ask him tomorrow which college coaches he has seen so far.

PIT= Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. It is a pre-draft NBA "show what you've got" tourney for the lower first round prospects and below.
So the comparison to the Senior Bowl is pretty much on the mark...

The tidewater area... All withing 10 minutes of each other.
People didn't think it was Shaka when alleva flew into Norfolk, but now it makes a whole lot more sense.
