O could have kept winning had he wanted to

Championship coaches don’t have much of a life. They don’t get to do too much sleeping, fishing, or.. dating.
O reached the pinnacle and chose to enjoy the spoils instead of making the necessary sacrifices to stay at the top.
I don’t think I can really blame him.

I don’t think he had the intellectual capacity or football knowledge to really make much of an impact even if he put the hours in

No coach this side of Saban would have done better than 5-5 in the SEC in 2020. This year the defense (Orgeron’s strength) righted itself while Peetz struggled.

Strongly disagree. It’s like they talk about in the later Rocky movies - he lost the hunger. And while it sucks for fans, you have to wonder if that might just be okay for an individual.

While this is true, it is also true that he lacked the intelligence. Orgeron’s success came because he inherited a first rate staff from Miles, that was made even better by the firing of Cam as demanded by fans.
Orgeron had Aranda and Ensminger who could tell him what needed doing, and Orgeron then applied his considerable salesmanship. Once Ensminger and Aranda left, there was no one to tell Orgeron to get Brady, get Burrow, hire this analyst, recruit this player, etc.
And Orgeron had no way to know who to get to replace them, which is why he sought advice from Pete Carrol and Joe Brady. He needed someone to tell him what to do, and eventually ran out of Miles’ assistants. Using outsiders like Kiffen, Carrol and Brady was never going to work, because those guys just aren’t there every day.
Without Miles’ assistants he was back to what he’s always been, the Ole Miss coach ripping off his shirt.

And Woodward, the guy now in charge of hiring the new guy. Not looking good.

The notion that orgeron wouldve been a fine head coach had he not let pussy get in the way is laughable

The fact that people don't get this is crazy.

It was more than just pussy, although that played a role after his divorce. It was the fact that to sustain a championship-caliber program you have to devote almost all of your time to the job.
After doing just that for a while, he achieved the absolute zenith: it was never going to get better than a perfect season with a Heisman QB and the championship in Louisiana. So he decided he didn’t want to grind anymore.

I really can’t help but wonder what our record would be had Myles not gotten hurt this year. I doubt very seriously O would’ve lost his job.

Nah, its the fact that he has a lack of communication skills and knowledge to coach the team to succeed. Also roster management is piss poor.

As high as 10-2; UK and OM pantsed Daronte too hard for any QB to overcome.

While I don't think Orgeron was a great, or even very good coach, I do think this is correct
Problems with him, though- he still wanted to show he was "the boss", so he surrounded himself with people who couldn't challenge him.
For all we know, Daronte Jones might have thought O's desired defensive schemes would never work, but he couldn't stand up to him.
Remember, for all the hate we gave Pelini, he DID come out publicly last season and say we were trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, by trying to run O's defense. The two feuded in the papers. O, of course, won.
Also- Peetz. No room to stand up and say "this is bullshite", he had to have a 3rd Down playcaller "like Brady and Ensminger did it".
How do you set plays up, when you're not even getting to make the call before/after? Mangus doesn't know what Peetz was feeling on 2nd down, he's got to guess. Same thing, Peetz isn't sure what Mangus will do, while he might have an idea based on the last call.
