Just showed the field on ESPN. Already standing water. Guess Saban and Co are betting a sloppy field will slow Fournette down

Yes, football fields do have tarps. I know Lambeau Field has been tarped before. I don't know if Alabama has one but football fields have been tarped.

Tiger Stadium had one when Dinardo was here. Later the field was reshaped and the tarp was no longer used.

No rain tarps. Only to keep the field from freezing.

Almost all fields are now built on the "second floor" with advanced drainage systems that wouldn't work properly with a tarp.
