I agree we do need to put emphasis on beating bama. But not let it dictate our season which I don't think you were saying but yea I agree beat bama this year!!

this is not s true statement, how many no 1 recruiting classes has lsu had?

Of course we need to beat them regardless, but overall they have had more talent based on recruiting rankings, draft status , all sec, all Americans etc.

It's hilarious how this argument has changed just this preseason.

It used to be, when the recruiting rankings came out: "Oh, these three stars that go to Bama then get shoved up to five stars! Our talent is better than theirs!"

Not worried, Chavis' fat arse is gone so I feel we will hold all leads we have with under 3 min to play. If so, that ovwrll record would be nearly even.

LSU fields the same talent as ALABAMA every season. That can't be argued.

LSU right now is tied for 5th IN THE CONFERENCE, in 5 stars. The next two teams behind them (UGA 8, TAMU 6) would need to combine AND add four more just to tie. Bama has nearly four times as many 5 stars as we do. If you go by team rankings comparing classes that have actually played on the field (2010-2014 classes) Bama's average is 1.8 with 4 straight #1 classes and a #5 class. LSU's average rank is 7.6. People may not understand, but there is a HUGE difference from the #1 ranked class and the #7/8 ranked class.

Our talent alone has kept us in a lot of these ball games

How in the hell would you even know that? Going by how close nearly all of them have been, it seems more likely that BAMA's talent alone has kept LSU from winning almost every contest.

But even though I hate SABAN it's easy to say he is a much better coach than "LESS MILES"

A much better recruiter, yeah you are right, but how much better is he at coaching when he has FAR more talent than anybody else, and still plays LSU close the majority of the time? Now losses against Oklahoma and OSU in consecutive years. We haven't had a QB worth a fart in most of these games, yet he still manages to just squeak by.

We are currently on a 4 game skid and it's starting to get ridiculous.

Yes I agree with this

No matter the end result of this season we NEED to beat BAMA

This team is still young (very few starting or two deep seniors at all + low amount of juniors) and if I could take an 11-1 season with our only loss being to Bama, knowing we'll be MUCH better the next year, I'd take that loss in a hearbeat.

Miles needs to beat Bama this year, bottom line.

Saban has made lsu and miles his little bitch the last few
years, and i don 't care how close the games were either.

You want to stay relevant, you need to beat Bama

'm not sure what that is supposed to indicate, but the talent at LSU is very similar to Alabama. LSU, Alabama, FSU have all recruited well the last 3-5 years. The difference in a player ranked #1 at his position and a pkayer ranked #3 is minimal at best.

You don't get it either. If you follow recruiting enough you would.

These two statements make it look like there ISN'T that much difference in #1 or #7......

I am not a 5STAR 4STAR kinda guy.I have no clue who was put in charge of the [STAR] system, but to me it means nothing...Its how they are coached once they get to college...... There is a huge difference in a so called 5 star class 1A recruit and a so called 5star 5a recruit......

So then is CLM to blame for this 4 game losing streak. Can he out recruit Saban. If he's not improving as a coach why keep him

There have been a total of ZERO coaches that have out - recruited Saban the past 5 years. Are we to fire all them and hire you and your beer drinking friends?

1) Go look at Oklahoma St's yearly record before Les Miles got there.

2) Go look at what he accomplished against Stoops and Brown that no other coaches could.

3) Stop being a dumbass

No No No. Bama has better talent. They win the recruiting battles every year. This is well documented.

I'd rather have one loss and win a national championship and with one loss to Bama than be 8-5 and beat Bama

It means his actual coaching is overrated.

He's a near GOAT level recruiter and statically puts up great QB play yearly. There has only been one time in the past five where they haven't put up at least 3050 yards, 24 TDs, and 66% completion (64% last year). The team under performs and his secondary is getting worse even though he pumps talent like water, into it.

I said this in another thread, but I believe his yearly win total will start to dip a little now. For various reasons as well. It won't be Mack Brown style, but they aren't going to be on the top of the heap anymore.

Why do you dumbasses keep saying this? It's not close to true. In the last 3 recruiting classes lsu has 1 top 5 finish. Bama has 3 straight #1 finishes.

Facts like Miles having one of the best win % in sec history and the #1 ooc win % in sec history? Facts like that?
Or the fact that Miles just gave lsu it's most successful 10 year stretch ever? Facts like that?
Facts like Miles has finished in the top 15 8 of his 10 years at lsu? Or finished in the top 10 6 of his 10 years? Facts like that?

you people are ridiculous saying BAMA has way more talent than LSU going on recruiting classes alone. That makes no sense. Not every 5 star recruit is a superstar. And not every 2 or 3 star recruit is a bust. Exp. Wasn't RUSSELL SHEPARAD a 5 star recruit? Guy couldn't even make it as a QB, and when they moved him to WR he never made much of an impact. Not knocking Russel cause I enjoyed the few plays that he did make while he was here. How about Tyrann Mathieu? A 3 star recruit. Arguably one of the BEST College football players I ever had the privilege to watch. Made more impact plays in two years than a 5th year senior in his whole career. A Heismen contender for crying out loud. So going off how many stars a HS player has means SQUAT!
