Jefferson has an absolutely tiny chance of ever contributing in any way other than a practice squad. It's a waste to use a pick on that when there are guys who are taken that are actual contributors in late rounds every year.

The majority of 5th-7th rounders never contribute outside of practice squad.

And if Joe Webb can start a game at QB in the NFL then anything is possible.

His footwork was still an issue at the combine. In fact, it was his most noted flaw.

His arm strength is what sells scouts. They all want to see a guy that can throw an 10-15 out to the opposite sideline. Jefferson can do that.

You're obviously wrong because TulaneLSU says so. Tom Brady was a late pick so that means that every late pick produces and teams never take chances on physical ability.

I doubt it. He doesn't have a skill set for a different position.

I seem to remember hearing the same stuff with him coming out of the Manning Passing Academy last summer. He was supposed to have improved his release, arm strength, footwork, etc & impressed everyone there. I would suspect a lot of people look really good when there is no defense providing pressure & coverage,JJ is a PRIME example of that.

JJ may make a practice squad. He was always impressive in drills, practice etc. He has always had the arm to make the throws.

People were just assuming it was postcombine for whatever reason.

....because they are hateful drooling morons that want him to fail so bad they jumped to conclusions.

IMO he likely won't be a QB but he could be a TE. He's a tough kid with some athletic ability.

That usually how it goes when someone makes an argument. If i was invested in both sides there wouldn't be much of an argument would there?

Aannnnyyywho....good luck to JJ. hope you get drafted so i can satisfy my own selfish needs and laugh uncontrollably at the meltdown that will ensue.

and also to somewhat redeem yourself and shut some of the haters up. Amen

You aren't particularly intelligent, are you?

I'm clearly not TulaneLSU

I never said or implied anything this ridiculous.

Debatable.

Sorry. When I see a stupid quote and the Tulane avatar, I attribute it to him. I'll have to pay closer attention now.

This is why Glen Guilbeau is a hack. What journalist writes a complete article about someone having a bad combine score without even checking to see if it was pre-combine or post combine. Not saying JJ will be any good at all in the NFL but he did great at combine.

I posted on here before that he is the next matt flynn if he gets with an excellent qb coach and has 3-4 years of continuity with team/coach. imo he won't be as good as flynn but he can improve DRAMATICALLY with EXTENDED coaching.

I understand what you are trying to do here but to put flynn and jefferson in the same sentence is just rediculous. maybe people should remember that flynn actually won a NC, while being named NC offensive mvp and was a good college qb. Those are a few things that jj never did.

You have no clue what that means. It's ok, we pull for the same team, just in different ways. You have to take the good, bad and ugly and sometimes acknowledge it.

He may or may not, he has played QB exclusively however and can be seen as an athlete with a big arm. He has nice size, good/decent speed, and other attributes where he could transition. Not saying it would be a smooth or easy transition but something that could happen.

hard to argue that

the manning camp loved him, the LSU coaching staff loved him, the guy is a great practice player

good luck to him

What position though?

TE? Too small, not athletic enough

DE? Same as above

OLB? Maybe, but that's a stretch
