yep. some of the tailgates might stay where they are at and others might leave for good or just relocate. The ones that relocate are likely going to set up shop where other tailgates are already at. Its going to be a flood of refuge tailgaters clashing with established ones in a area.

Those cows have way too much prime real estate on River Rd.

It's time to cut that acreage down and make another lot.

This move may backfire on LSU.
If you think about it tailgating actually reduces game time traffic. People come early to tailgate and then leave late.

Are these paved or gravel lots? If they're grass only, won't LSU close them if it rains hard?

As long as this program is successful and there is a waiting list for season tickets, the athletic department will do whatever they want to in regards to the gameday experience. As everything in life, it's all about money.

It sucks, but they are running it like the business that it is.

The married housing is not adding new parking. Having additional parking for one year before you start building new buildings doesnt count as adding parking

agreed but, that's where 800 of these 2300 spots are going to be.

ETA: levee lots were definitely open last year. i parked there for the Auburn mudfest.

Did it go un-noticed that they created roughly 1500 new public parking spots for this year? This would handle a large majority of the vehicles that parked along Nicholson!

Except that they also added about 10,000 seats.

They have laid down gravel driveways in the old bull pasture like the ones that they have in the other Levee Lot.

Aren't the new parking areas in the old married students dorms going to be permit..paid...only? As for any safety issues with the parking on Nicholoson & Burbank, I do not remember any articles in the paper about anyone getting run over in those areas, going back decades. And there are no more people walking the roads in that area than anyhwhere else on campus post game. Strictly a ploy to make more money under the guise of making things better for the fans. That area is going to be a cluster frick.

It'll hurt everyone's tailgating really.

I've been going over night for 2 games the past 3-4 years, but it looks like State, Ole Miss and Alabama will be over nighters to secure our tailgating spot.

I started this thread on 247...it appears that some of the ticketholders couldn't care less about the lowly tailgaters

One thing no one has mentioned.. How will they enforce no parking along Nicholson and Burbank? You have to think a majority of casual fans will not know about these new rules at first. Are they really going to have cops stationed every 300-500 feet along both sides of both of these roadways? Running up and down the road for 10 straight hours telling people who try to park to go elsewhere?

As stated earlier, people park all the way to Brightside on both of these roads for big games. That has to be roughly a thousand parking spots and maybe more. If no cops are running around for 10 straight hours, people are still going to park there. Is riverside going to tow 1000+ vehicles?

Why will LSU not answer this. If the goal is to reduce the tailgate only crowd. Why only allow people with game tickets in hand on campus? Why not offer more options for season ticket holders?

No clue how they plan on enforcing it. I'm sure they have something in mind. Temporary fence maybe.
