I agree completely and my tailgate spot will be impacted by this rule. I'll just alter my plans/ location and keep on tailgating. Anything to fix the traffic.

The tailgating down Nicholson isn't going to die. Too good of a location for it to just be empty. The people bitching about it may move but others will simply take their place.

i seriously have my doubts.

Yeah LSU clearly thinks so. I disagree with it being a small stretch. It's 1000's of people. It a lot.

Traffic needs to be fixed in a bad way. I hope whatever they do solves the issue.

I think this will help flow for sure. But it also takes away a ton of parking spots while adding 8k seats.

Imo the only way this helps traffic in the end is if there are a lot less cars on campus on gameday, which is quite possible.

Something had to change to help with the post game traffic. Whatever that change was was bound to affect certain people in an adverse way and cause some moaning and groaning.

The bigger problem was the traffic and congestion. This plan will surely help that and I support it.

This plan will make a lot more people happy than it will upset but the ones that are upset will be the ones you hear from the most!

it's more than possible IMO. people will just throw their hands up and stay home and watch the game in hi def.

the contraflow down nicholson will be a huge help.

I don't park on nicholson but I know people that do and tailgate in that area and they are probably pretty pissed off right now.

honestly, if LSU made it $20 general parking, they would have had a value and people would have paid it. $40 is too steep for a lot of people that just want to tailgate all day.

I think alleva had a chance to do something good but missed the mark by being a little too greedy on the $40. $20 would have been fair.

Basically their way of making it easier to leave the game is to make it really hard for people to come to games. Gameday parking will be more of a nightmare than ever before. All parts of campus will be affected.

What happens when it rains and a few of the grass lots close? What about for the huge games when every spot on campus is filled and cars are parked on each side of Nicholson down to Brightside and on burbank all the way to lee drive?

If the grass lots close due to rain it is a giant cluster anyway and having parking available along Nicholson won't make that any better

For big games, those people will have to find alternate parking options or stay home if they are to inconvenienced!

I agree with what some others have said in that I think part if all these plans (paid lots and now this) is meant to try and reduce the amount of vehicles on campus ie...the tailgate only crowd!

it rains the day before or on gameday for at least 1 or 2 game every year and lots close. its not exactly unexpected.

Did it go un-noticed that they created roughly 1500 new public parking spots for this year? This would handle a large majority of the vehicles that parked along Nicholson!

Contra flow down Nicholson to Bluebonnet will help immensely.
You won't have traffic coming into campus immediately after the game, that was the cluster it created.

unless they decided to put gravel on the driving range, that lot will close if we get any heavy rain within a week of the game. I don't expect it to be open very often.

we're ok. i'm not too worried. The married housing is not adding new parking. Having additional parking for one year before you start building new buildings doesnt count as adding parking.
