Yesterday reignited my expectations of the season and what this team may be able to accomplish.

I hope history doesn't repeat itself. Yesterday was one of the most exciting unexpected victories I remember in TS.

It reminded me most of 2000 Tennessee but also to a certain degree of 1997 Florida.

But on that note I am a nervous about our talented but inconsistent team playing an inconsistent but dangerous Ole Miss squad.

1997
Oct . 11 - #14 LSU 28 #1 Florida 21
Oct. 18- #8 LSU 21 Ole Miss 36

2017
Oct. 14 LSU 27 #10 Auburn 23
Oct. 21 #24 LSU @ Ole Miss

That 97 game was on my 14th birthday and was one of the toughest losses of my young fandom. Hope the guys have their mind right headed to Oxford.

A trap game for sure. I'd say 31-30 LSU right now

Nothing is guaranteed.

But a win would help this team develop.

Anticipation and hope have at least reentered this season!

My question is which LSU team will show up

Ole Miss will put up points for sure, Shea is the real deal

Its one we should win but it will likely be very close

I didn't expect us to beat frick Florida or Auburn. I don't expect us to beat Ole Miss.

It's just easier that way. I do, however, now look to this game knowing that LSU has the capability to beat OM. I know they can. We all do. The OM passing game is going to shred our secondary so Raymond and Aranda better have our DBs ready.

Let's see if the coaches can keep the energy and confidence up, and get a win going into the bye.

LSU already learned not to take a team too lightly. I don't think we'll see a letdown at Ole Miss.

Anything can happen on any given Saturday. We’re not guaranteed to win any of our next 5. Both teams don’t really have anything to lose here even if we’re technically still in the west title race. You can’t be thinking about that on this Saturday. We need to just come out loose and play with the same pride and passion that was resurrected the last two weeks after what may have been rock bottom.

The Rebs have one of the worst running games in CFB. I can't wait for us to tee off on Shea. Ole Miss can go to hell!

Coming off a huge win, going against one of the best offenses in the SEC, on the road, against a opponent that hates us more than life itself.

Yeah, this game has "letdown" written all over it.

and their run defense is terrible. ranked 117 giving up an avg 238 on the ground.

Y'all, we haven't won in Ole Miss since the 2011 mercy knee. It's been a long time. Thanks, Les.

Ole mrs always plays us tough, when they can. Shea is a dangerous QB.
Hope O steers them clear of the traps, I'm sure he is aware of them. Now, the players need to avoid them, too.

We are all nervous and setting the bar super low for the team that lost 66-3 to Alabama two weeks ago right? Just wanted to make sure

I personally don't think the game will be close. Tigers by double digits

my contention is that, of the 5 games we have remaining, we win 3. our losses will be bama and ole miss.

we struggle to beat ole miss at their place even with much stronger teams than we have this year. we are their bowl game and they play over their heads virtually every time we play them, esp in oxford. they have the best qb in the SEC and will be putting up points. aranda will have his biggest challenge, imo.

we will have to win this game with our offense scoring more than theirs and theirs is a lot better esp via the air.

Ole Piss has a very soft defense. We should not have trouble moving the ball. My only concern is that they will throw a ton and we need to pick off passes and not drop them.

You'd think we learned that after the MSU drubbing, but then Troy happened.
