NCAA bubble watch (who to root for/against) major conference edition

Ok.....so here we go. We need to root for "teams that should be in" and against "work left to do" teams. Example, Uconn is playing SMU tonight. Uconn getting knocked off helps LSU inch closer to a potential bid. This thread is not about complaining about LSU, JJ, or anything else. Its about what needs to happen to help the Tigers get into POSITION for a potential bid. Also, in the coming week there will be a ton of mid major championships. Any mid major who if eligible for an at large, you want to root for them to win their conference champioships. We cant have scrubs snatching auto bids
I think Drizz may add some SEC factors to consider. Things are going the Tigers way so far this week. Bama lost at home to Ark, UF lost, and USC just flopped at home against UGA.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
Work left to do: Tulsa, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Temple
ATLANTIC 10 CONFERENCE

Teams that should be in: Saint Joseph's
Work left to do: St Bonaventure, VCU, George Washington
ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE

Teams that should be in: Pittsburgh
Work left to do: Syracuse
BIG XII

Teams that should be in: Texas Tech
BIG EAST CONFERENCE

Teams that should be in: Seton Hall
Work left to do: Providence, Butler
BIG TEN CONFERENCE
Locks: Maryland, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa, Indiana
Teams that should be in: Wisconsin
Work left to do: Michigan, Ohio State
MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE
Work left to do: San Diego State
PAC-12 CONFERENCE
Locks: Oregon, Utah, California, Arizona
Teams that should be in: Colorado
Work left to do: Oregon State, USC
SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE
Locks: Kentucky, Texas A&M
Teams that should be in: South Carolina
Work left to do: Florida, Alabama, Vanderbilt, LSU
NCAA DIVISION I
Locks: Wichita St
Work left to do: Arkansas-Little Rock, Valparaiso, Saint Mary's, Monmouth, Gonzaga

How does Georgia fit into all this? They could ruin Alabama and become a player if they beat the Tide on Saturday.

Oregon St is one to keep an eye on, they're trending out at the moment. They just lost last night and go to UCLA Saturday(who will be lucky to make the NIT) and will be missing their 2nd best player.

Thanks for the post.
As it relates to LSU, I will add regular season SEC Champ scenarios and SECT seeding.
1. LSU needs to win @UK. Scenarios without LSU winning @UK are fruitless. It would be win SECT to dance.
2. LSU winning @UK puts LSU at 12-6 and at least 2nd in SEC final standings.
3. If TAMU beats Vandy, TAMU is SEC Champs. The standings and SECT seedings as follows:
#1 TAMU (13-5)
#2 LSU (12-6)
#3 UK (12-6)
#4 Vandy (11-7) or USCe (11-7 if they win @Ark)
4. If Vandy beats TAMU, LSU is co-SEC Champs in a 4 way tie.
#1 LSU (12-6)
#2 Vandy (12-6)
#3 TAMU (12-6)
#4 UK (12-6)
ETA: Please RA for sticky so we can keep this here. Many of the same questions are asked over and over again.

Cincinnati is about to lose @ Houston so that helps us out
Posted on 3/3/16 at 9:55 pm to lwlsu96
Houston just beat UCONN Sunday. They could be creeping up into the conversation headed to the conference tourney. That will be an interesting conference tourney with quite a few bubble teams.

UGA is 9-8 in SEC and RPI 5 spots ahead of LSU, which LSU will jump with the win @UK. UGA is also 2-5 v. Top 50 and 4-11 against Top 100. They're a non-starter IMO.

If LSU beats Kentucky this is true. I think even if Georgia has a higher RPI, LSU gets in ahead of them. Florida and Bama are the more worrisome teams. Florida plays mizzou so they will move down. Florida and Bama will have to play in the 2nd round of the SEC tourney. We need both to lose in that round or at least one of them. They may actually play each other that round.

So drizz, the guy posting that if A&M wins with us winning as well we don't face UK then was completely wrong
But then again he also said if Vandy won and we won A&M would be conference champs I think? He had me really confused

Just a thought, but if you have to win at least two games in the conference tournament, and beat Kentucky once, why not rest everyone against Kentucky in the final and gear up for the tournament?
If Kentucky wins the regular season title, they will have a tournament seed locked up and wouldn't take the conference tournament as seriously. Might even get knocked off in the semi-final and LSU could avoid them altogether.

Rest them? They are not preschoolers who need naps. They wouldnt play till Thursday either way. This is not wk 17 of the NFL.
So Johnny trots out a starting 5 of:
PG Shortest
SG Eddlestone
SF Epps
PF Bridge
C ERIII
Yeah, the nega johnnies are have a collective wet dream right now
Was this a serious question?

Let's tank our chance to win a statement game so we can hope to win 3 in a row in SECT?
"Okay guys, everyone sit, let them win. We're playing for SECT."
Mind blown.

But, look, we're fans. It's on the team. @UK is a tough task. But if the team wants it, it is within their grasp. No mountain too high to climb.
