OU was still in (better) playoff contention when Riley was negotiating with USC. Unless you believe he just up and decided to move Sunday morning.

When he started negotiating is irrelevant. He didn’t leave until they were out. If OU was getting ready for the CCG this week and he left there would have been criticism. Everyone I’ve heard questioning Kelly was saying they couldn’t believe he would leave a team in playoff contention. It’s not about hating the LSU or the South or any of that crap

A little, but a lot of it is people saying ND is a better job than LSU. Also, ND doesn’t have a blue balls chance in hell of winning NC, and with ESD the NCAA makes it to where this happens. BK had to come now or never and he can’t control that.

They couldn't stand Saban when he was at LSU, but have slobbered all over him at Bama.

Fact.

Manswers is all over it…
Ive traveled the country and when there is a LA speaker, presenter, or salesperson, the audience cant get enough, they eat it up like gumbo or jambalaya..
b/c We are real/authentic! They are fake and know it! People are so attracted to it because its our human nature, how God made us and its scarce everywhere else but here in LA!
At least thats what ive seen…

Not "the south". They love Bama. Alabama is the beloved retarded nephew.LSU is the freak skank niece who is easy to look down on. Love the hire personally.

I frequently visit Boston, New York and DC. Louisiana will always be special. It is family, culture, community. The people are generally happy and value what is important in life. Those who are materially successful but unhappy tend to think those who are happy but less materially successful as stupid to make themselves feel better

Another thing is that Louisiana is different from the rest of the South. We are very diverse,. We are a French/Spanish/Anglo/African American/German culture. We are home to one of the great cities of the world, and that allows us to be exposed to other cultures and ideas, without us going nuts about it, or being shocked by them.

I’ve traveled a good bit, and for the most part, Louisianians are pretty tolerant, and pretty knowledgeable about the world.

Reading the comments of the ND/Big Media on the hiring of Kelley it’s obvious that their knowledge of this state is a mile wide and an inch deep.

They aren't just jealous of the success, they think Southerners are undeserving of it. We are low brow and pretty much the only way they will begrudgingly give you respect is if you force them to by having unmatched success

as far as they are concerned, We do not deserve a successful intelligent coach like Kelly from a premier northeastern brand in CFB. What we deserve as dumb hillbilly oafs is "one of us", a dumb oaf like Orgeron. We need to stay in our lane

Northerners/Midwesterners/west coasters most definitely look down on southerners as unintelligent hicks

I think the way this played out kind of pissed off the sports reporters too. Scott Woodward fooled them all and made some look foolish. A lot of them were questioning how Woodward still didn’t have a coach and let LR slip through his fingers. Then when they found out that Riley wasn’t even his target, it pissed them off.

They are used to getting insights into the status of coaching searches, but SW had them completely baffled. And had all the search info locked down. They didn’t even know BK was being considered. USC and Riley had them a bit confused, but not as much as LSU and BK.

Not to get political, but thumbing your nose at the press gets them all pissed off. We’ve seen that with others too.

Stop trying to be the victim. You give them lots of reasons to belittle you. Including your ignorant politics, your double standards, hypocrisy, etc. And Brian Kelly was never a beloved poster boy.
And yes we will win championships with BK.

Imagine how embarrassing it must be for them. The winningest coach in the history of the most prestigious football school in the north, just left his team to come to LSU and said he did it because he wanted to coach the best players, in the best conference, at a school that supported him in every way. That stings.

Correct. They are pissed that Woodward did exactly what he said he would. He did it on his own timeline. I love it. They love to hate on LSU. They beat us over the head with micro aggressions ever since les won the title. That’s our roll and I’m here for it. Keep pissing them off by whipping there favorites.

Either say American for all of us or none of us. Not just the blacks.

Just adding onto this - This is what the rest of the country actually means when they say that Coach Kelly doesn't seem like a culture fit. They think Louisiana people are all just like Coach O or Les Miles.

Blue Blood Club

THIS is 100% the truth. The national media doesn't hate the South in general. What they hate is the threat to the traditional brands that sell. Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma and USC in football are the teams that were traditionally the top programs for years. Georgia is also on the fringe of that group. A lot of that stemmed from the power of the major networks. Those were the teams that were on TV. Now, everybody is on TV and, as such, players from the South are staying in the South, the coaches and the dollars have followed and the SEC has dominated because of it.

I honestly believe that this is why they are so blatantly hostile toward Will Wade and LSU men's hoops. When a team like LSU takes a 5 star that would have likely gone to a Duke or a Kentucky, and when they then start to beat those "blue blood" schools, it further threatens the traditional powers. It's worth noting that they don't have that same hate toward LSU baseball because we are one of the blue bloods for that sport. Well, that plus they don't give as much of a shite about baseball.
