Over the last couple of days, I have seen multiple national talking heads bashing Brian Kelly and his move to LSU. It has nothing to do with Brian Kelly. They all loved him when he was at ND. It is strictly their disdain for LSU, SEC, and the south. It shatters their reality to see this kind of move and takes them down a notch. They think they are better than us will probably always will

Was watching something a couple days ago with Andy Staples and some chick reporter, "journalist", IDK? Anyway, she kept coming back to the culture fit thing. It was hilarious, all she could say was, "I can't imagine it". Staples basically said what was common sense and that was that, if he's winning, he's a culture fit.

If it’s the south & SEC they hate, then explain their love for Bama then?

Alabama is a traditional blue blood, and Nick Saban has had a dynasty. They wouldn't have said a damn thing.

Bama and A&M are the schools Bear Bryant the Godfather of college football coached at.. The media believes Bryant and Knute Rockne are the two greatest coaches before Saban.. LSU, is looked at as party crashers by the media.. They think that we are dumb and undeserving of success.. They loved it when we had a grass eating dummy and Bobby Boucher as our head coach.. They are afraid and it is showing... PURPLE REIGN is coming..

WRONG! Nothing against the south.. All the hate is against the classless individual named Brian Kelly. I think people from the south appreciate a sincere person not a phony like Brian Kelly.

After reading the comments in this, it is unbelievable how much you let these people live in your heads rent free.

As someone who was raised as an LSU fan from birth but has never lived in Louisiana, nobody outside of Louisiana thinks about you at all.

I’ve been saying this for 5+ years and will continue saying it for probably 5+ more years, it’s things like STTDB that make us look this way. I hate it. I am an intelligent alum of LSU and the rest of the country looks at us like trash because this is what we are known for.

It’s a very real insecurity that is manifested in their own arrogance, and there’s nothing new about that.

Remember those making the rankings are the ones that get to set the criteria. Louisiana has nothing to be ashamed of. It is a great place and a great culture, unique to the rest of the United States. I've lived in the Midwest for almost 30 years. I've worked in 2 multi-national corporations and I'm currently a partner in a large national law firm. I frequently visit Boston, New York and DC. Louisiana will always be special. It is family, culture, community. The people are generally happy and value what is important in life. Those who are materially successful but unhappy tend to think those who are happy but less materially successful as stupid to make themselves feel better. I'm painting with a broad brush, but I believe there is a lot of truth in those statements. There is no food, no culture, no people like those in Louisiana. We'll keep being who we are and win national championships and the media will just need to deal with that.

1,000% this. I grew up in St. Amant and then lived 11 years in Seattle and now Raleigh… Seattle was miserable and about as unauthentic of a place I’ve ever been. Raleigh is better, but it still doesn’t hold a candle to the overall feel of southern Louisiana.

Northerners (especially Northeast) consider Southerners backwards and uncivilized. They consider Cajuns (which they associate with all of Louisiana, because they are idiots) to be subhuman. Look at how Cajuns are depicted in film. Look at how Orgeron (right or wrong) was treated and mocked by the media. It is seen as being acceptable to mock Cajuns because, though they are rightfully a "minority" group, they do not pass the Progressive melanin test.

This is so true. Perhaps a mixture, but their record of hating on the south goes -wayyyy- back. They hate us. They think less of us. And they wish they could have our success at football.

Fk ND. Nice hire, boys. At least it seems that way.

So, you're right but it's much less about LSU than the SEC/ESPN relationship.

IMO they hate the slide that ND has taken in football prestige over the last 30 years, and losing a coach to LSU is a big target for that hate.

ND can’t win conference championships, so national championships are the measuring stick for that program, and 1988 was a very long time ago. Since then they’re known for making big bowls and getting blown out in them.

They’re the aging beauty queen and we’re seeing the bitterness.

We saw a lot of this the past two years when O started falling out of favor. The narrative was in the vein of "I don't get it. Why don't they like this guy? He's one of them."

And that's what they think of us. That we're content with a guy who "talks like us" and knows how to make a roux. We should just accept him as "one of us," sit down, and let the adults deal with the real football matters.

I am old enough to remember my Dad complaining about this since the 60's. It is not imaginary, just not as evident as it was decades ago...

Some arrogant northerner is down voting any positive threads about the south. Probably an insecure country club liberal who claims to be a virtuous believer in equality but has never lived in a diverse and wonderful place as this. A typical good for thee, but not for me. Oops, there I go judging. Oh well cest la vie, I'm go go on enjoying and excelling in my dumb ole Louisiana
