1. Tom Herman is a big game coach and loves to be the underdog. They'll be locked in and ready to go.

2. Their defense was physical at the line of scrimmage.

3. Ehlinger is good but overrated. He only threw for 169yds and I don't think Texas had a play that went over 15yds all night.

4. UGA apathy won Texas the game

I know, it's an excuse, but anyone watching could tell the Bulldogs were 100% checked out. The team's season was over after the SEC championship. It's not the Longhorn's fault that we weren't ready, but it's the truth. Also keep in mind that Texas only scored 18 points offenisvely. In addition, we were missing 4 starters on defense. Their other points came from turnovers and our punter accidentally taking a knee.

I believe the conditions for this game will be different. LSU should be able to dominate the LOS and wear them down. I wish it was us going to Austin this week to play them because I know deep down we're 2 scores better than they are. I use to live in Texas and losing that game kills me because they're such an arrogant fanbase and institution. I believe Texas is a good team capable of winning, but they were not as good as we made them look. I could tell in Kirby's pregame interview the he nor the team gave a damn about preparing for that game.

If LSU plays focused and to win and blocks out all the noise I feel really good about us.

Good post. We’ll score 45+ though. Starters will play into the fourth, unlike last Saturday.

Good perspective. But that was a neutral field. This is on their home turf. LSU looked sharp offensively against GaSouthern but the new scheme is still a work in progress. I expect a very close game that can go either way. 27-24 (something like that).

Texas fans are VERY confident for 3 reasons:

1. They stuck it to Georgia. We all know that wasn't UGA's best effort and I think they don't realize that LSU also put it on that team last year.

2. Big Game Herman. I agree he has done well in his career in Big Games as the underdog, but they act like he has never lost a big game. That isn't true. They still treat O as if he's the Ole Miss version of himself too.

3. Our new offense is a worse version of a Big 12 offense that they are built to stop. I'll agree that they are used to playing spread offenses. But those offenses have skill players under 200 pounds. LSU is going to pack way more muscle than any team in the Big 12 not named OU and I'm not sure their new defense is prepared for that. They seem to think their corners are their weakness.

Pretty much agree on all points. But if Smart didn't have them ready to play is an indictment against him as a coach.

How about you got punched in the mouth early and folded like the pvssies you are. I prefer that narrative.

I don't see us doing nothing but dominating this game. Their defense lost a lot of starters from last year and our offense will continue to impress. Our defense is going to give everyone problems this year. After the first quarter, I don't think this game will even be in doubt.

That’s pathetic. If your team didn’t care about playing the Sugar Bowl, you need better coaches and players. That’s just an excuse though.

Agree. Give Texas credit for coming to play and winning, but Georgia clearly didn’t want to be there and were lethargic.

Our offense is a worse version if a big 12 offense

I disagree tho outside of OU no offense in the big 12 has as many weapons as LSU does
