You have got to be kidding me. Which timeout was missused?

People give Miles hell for meddling with his assistant coaches, but now the complaint is he should have told Chavis what to do? I don't think he was ever a defensive coach to tell Chavis what to call anyway. Also Chavis is and has been a very good coordinator for years, why all of a sudden butt in. Point is no matter what defensive play is called our guys just weren't getting it done period. Loss is not on Miles.

Chavis has forgotten more football than anyone on this board knows. I'm sure he knows he doesn't have the horses to compete against a good offense. All they can do is play the games and see if they eventually start clicking on defense.

My dad says our defense flat out sucks.
I agreed with him.

don't worry guys i called him an idiot and laughed in his face. The funniest part is, he didn't even watch the game, he was on a fishing trip.

I can't imagine anyone that would say LSU d is good right now.

Your dad is an idiot

Right, Miles is Chavis' s boss, Nick Saban takes total responsibility for all of Bama wins and losses, Miles needs to explain why they let Georgia come down the field against our no pressure, soft defense.,
If your secondary struggles covering receivers with zone help then isolated them in man. How are you not a college football coach?

your dad is a moron

Well Miles is the head coach so he deserves blame.
Miles also deserves credit when LSU wins.

Sure looked like Chavis forgot about defense yesterday and last year in the AL and bowl games.
Can you say prevent and passive??
Think the guy could learn a little lesson after all these years and make an adjustment in our crunch time defense??

Alabama scored against a blitz, genius.

sometimes people get silly in their old age

Miles should have told Chavis to teach his dbs that part of coverage is to look for the ball, instead of just running next to the guy?

It's Miles' fault? I guess somehow Miles (and Chavis) can magically improve the talent on D.
Some fans have think coaching can overcome a lack of talent.

It's not even a lack of talent. A lot of these guys are playing a year earlier than their development because of all the early departures. College defenses are super complicated and until a player has gained significant situational experience, mistakes in executions are going to frequently be made.

Wait... Is this your dad?
I just can't blame this on anything but lack of experience on the defense. Of course they were playing the prevent towards the end. They'd been burned all day, and Georgia had to drive the field and score a touchdown to win. So, they tried to prevent the big play and play for a field goal situation. Was it a good decision? Not in retrospect maybe, but every coach in that situation would trust his defensive coordinator, especially when its been the unit you're known for as a powerhouse. Outside of some time out trouble, Miles is to blame only in the cheesy "The coach of the team is responsible for its failures" way in my eyes. Why? Success is why the team is in this situation. You don't have that rate of departure for the NFL if you're not an elite defense. Miles and his staff recruited talent as well as they could, and unlucky for them, that talent was a little too good and all left at the same time. There are several valid reasons to blame the loss on, but Les Miles isn't really one of them.

AL scored TDs in both halves with one minute on the clock after LSU missed field goals.
Yes, that single play with Yeldon was the only time in both series we went with more than 4 rushing McCarron.
However, we basically let them go right downfield on both TDs. Even if we do not miss tackles on that last play, AL had easily gone right down the field with no pressure on McCarron and AL was in field goal range.

But Miles didn't make adjustments so plays could have been made. If the players that you have in are not getting the job done it's time to make some changes.
