What I don't understand is that from every corner of the sports covering press pre-season all we heard was "all LSU needs is average QB play" or "a game manager under center".

Well, have that now. More than that in my book (as judged by the WRs; leaving stats out of it). Now we hear nothing of the sort.

Moscona needs to blow his shows format up and start over. It's the same thing day after day, week after week. His best hour is with Theriot and he destroys it by trying way too hard to be boys with Ryan.

I've gotten sick of Russ Mitchell too.

frick this is so spot on

He has thrown multiple 15-20 yd outs from the opposite hash and they have been on the money.

For me his most underrated strength is his ability to throw on the run. His pocket presence and calmness in the pocket is impressive too.

What they (all national media) fail to mention as a follow up is that we know Danny isn't a great QB and be has his visible faults, but he understands the game well enough to win.

Jalen Hurts is no better than Etling. Better with his legs, much worse with his accuracy.

Yet these same frickers are riding Hurts' dick.

Decision Making: A-

This right here is the most important. Harris had the talent- arm strength and running ability were there. Hell, he trucked a dude over on a long arse run against Sam Houston on a long touchdown run when he was tiny as hell as a freshman. Think they got so caught up in having to complete passes they forgot about this as an extra option for defenses to account for. Wisconsin interception last play is a perfect example of decision making. With tons of room and only one dude remotely near the flat he made the wrong decision.

Etling steps up in the pocket cleanly and doesn't retreat or flush our immediately. If he sees daylight he takes what they give him for five yards here or there. Or 10. Didn't he keep the final auburn drive alive on a third down with one? Ain't afraid to take a hit. Even though it's dangerous you gotta believe his teammates see that he gives everything out there. How could you not step up your level of play when someone is giving that effort? He didn't go to the bench to pout after his fumble that game either. Kept his head together for the next possession.

Etling ain't perfect, but the dude is a fricking G. I had close to no we'd actually drive far enough to win on the final drive against auburn. But he was clutch in those moments, and proved he could handle the stage. He's the best we got at the moment. So support him, or gtfo. And if Harris has to play in relief, let's hope he's done his homework and is ready to prove himself with a second chance.

Let's fricking ride

I'd take him over either, in a heartbeat.

I totally agree dude, Mascona has caught a case of what I like to call "Cowherditus". My prescription is a nice slice of humble pie.

This, he has become overly critical of LSU to try and get a rise out of listeners. It's pretty evident that everyone that works there thinks he's a douche

Etling is a serviceable quarterback who has played his part heroically. Unfortunately, all it will take is an INT or two at a bad time and his world will come crashing down very quickly. I think he's well aware of this and is doing everything he possibly can to ensure that doesn't happen.
