It slightly affects drag. A guy throwing 88-89 will be able to get to around 91-92.

Are there any plans to do something about the park? Move the fence in, or something? That too, chaps my arse. You bring teams in for the ultimate prize (CWS Championship) and basically eliminate a huge factor (the homerun) in a baseball game.

I know it affects drag, thats the whole point of switching to it.

Im saying the ball is not coming out of a pitchers hand any faster because of less drag.

I heard, and admittedly haven't taken the time to verify, that in three years no one has hit a ball out of the stadium between left center and right center fields. That includes players and opposing players on the Omaha minor league team playing there.

I really wish we could put up > 60 homers in a season again.
Or even approach 90!

ESPN would benefit more with more homeruns.

Diehard fans can watch this small ball type of hitting all day. But the average sports fan dig the longball.

2009 bats atleast

TDA is a hunk of garbage that needs to be destroyed before it makes its 5th birthday.

IIRC its actually smaller than Hoover.
The ball just carries like anchor in TDA.

Issues like this (the BBCOR bat) is one reason why I wish conferences would tell the NCAA to go F themselves and make their own rules/regulation/guidelines for college athletics.

The NCAA has proven that they are good at laying a pile of shite and falling back in it.

The Big 10 commissioner fought hard for the new bats. He also fought to have the season start later and for the ridiculous scholarship restrictions on college baseball. He thinks this will help the Big 10 gain parity with the southern and western conferences.

Are you saying they are actually trying to give LESS scholarships in baseball?!

He doesn't want them to expand the number. Thinking is that more scholarships offered will hurt northern teams.

this

I wouldn't surprise me if the NCAA vacated the CWS titles during that era at some point in the distant future. And honestly, I wouldn't blame them. Wouldn't like it but I'd understand.

It will make a huge difference. Do not be surprised to see our HR production go up about 50% next season. Pretty much any ball caught at the track this year is a HR next year.

No!

Mid to late 90's gorilla ball was bad, but it was equal.
All teams had the opportunity to use the same bats that we did.

Agreed. The new bats made a boring sport even more boring. Only reason I watch the post season is for school spirit
