Ok Les, you want to run your type of plays on offense, we got it! But I hope when you watched the film with the offense you saw how many missed blocks, blown assignments and just plain got out manned on the line that happened during the game! I don't give a frick what we run or who runs it as long as its effective and the players can correctly execute it! Otherwise we are just pissing in the wind!

If nothing else please get rid of that stupid pitch/hand off play up the middle! What is the point of that play? You are taking a chance by pitching it in the first place, then the back has to concentrate on the ball instead of developing holes so what could possibly be the advantage of it.

That has to be a Miles favorite because no matter who the OC has been that play has been around.

We have so many lost yards on that play that a calculator can not total!

He's partially right.. a huge majority of it is poor execution by the OL

Listen, it's the reason why you try to work around it. It's been 4 games now, you can pretty much figure out that our most glaring problems are OL and DL. I think DL can be aided by a rotation of freshman DTs, you know, guys that are big and healthy? It won't be great, but it'll be a little better.

You can't make the OL better that way, because that is not the problem. You mean to tell me the same guys last year including FBs and TEs have all regressed this year? Not fricking buying it.

When asked about his team’s struggles against Mississippi State, Miles chalked the loss up to poor execution, not scheme.

so starting off the game with runs right up the middle against guys who could battle for NFL roster spots instead of going after defense backs that UAB were able to exploit.

its not the 1970s anymore Les. 3 yds and a cloud of dust doesn't work anymore

3 yards and a cloud of dust has won more games for LSU than in any other time in it's history.

3 yards and a cloud of dust had us undefeated in the 2011 regular season even with poor QB play.

It may not be working right now, with these players, at this stage in their careers, but it can work when they are comfortable and experienced.

So you believe he should stick with this antique philosophy even though we just got our asses kicked by the 5th best team in the SEC west?

The scheme is absolutely not the problem. Staunch refusal to alter the scheme when it isn't working is a huge problem.

Makes me think of that old quote about the definition of insanity. . .

Miss leading because we won all those games with arguably the best defensive squad in LSU history.

The play calling is so ridiculously predictable that anyone watching from the stands or on TV knows exactly what we're going to do. If that in itself wasn't sad enough, in order for such a play to work, it must be executed perfectly with little to no margin for error. Since when has a Les Miles-coached team ever executed anything flawlessly? More often than not, it's a stumbling, bumbling comedy of errors.

one big advantage an offense has is knowing what is going to happen when the ball is snapped. if a defense also knows what is about to happen, that advantage is gone. they go from reacting to acting, not an easy thing to execute against.

Maybe you should support your team. Bashing coaches or players is destructive to this program.
If anything the past has proven that.

And when you see your OLine cannot handle 8 in the box then you need to adjust your scheme and formations...it's sort of interdependent situations, your oline cannot handle numbers, spread things out

Against Wisconsin.. below is a great example.. I understand that it's okay to run against a front like this occasionally, to set up the deep PA, but we did this frequently. In general.. this is goal-line style stuff.

Below is 7v7, and Jennings/Harris ability to run makes it 8v7 in our favor. We can run, pass, zone-read out of this formation.

Same formation again, and due to the location of the field, they are perfectly content trying to hold us to a field goal and have their safeties playing deep. We should be able to run on that front all day long.. we have huge advantages on screens with great potential.. and the short route to Quinn or TE is likely open.

We get our best matchups in the gun. Cameron isn't an idiot, he knows it. I'm just curious as to why we play a "shell" offense.. we don't have the line to rely on the defense like we did in 2011.

Miles does not believe in changing his play book for any opponent. He does not believe in taking advantage of weaknesses of the opponent.

Only do what LSU does no matter the opponent. Each week he picks the plays from which the offensive coordinator chooses for the game. Those plays are what the teams practice. He does not deviate.

Miles is very stubborn but at the same time why take the risk with his job when he can win 10 games most years and half the fan base thinks he is a hero?

BUT, our opponents seem to be able to run "up the gut" quite easily
