Just put him on a big chain and have Cesar Milan give him a few "psssttt" until the UF team comes out the tunnel. Then just let him loose.

I would hope he would make a b-line for Cesar once off the chain. That would be awesome.

What do Mike the Tiger and Ryan Perrilloux have in common?

1)They both couldn't handle Death Valley.
2)They both have spent time behind bars!
Worst 1st post ever.

RP never spent time behind bars and was never arrested or charged with any crime.

exactly. he did the march down victory hill and then they pulled him into the PMAC for some pre-game event. even the Advocate mistakenly said he wasn't in his travelling cage.

I say we let him run on the field like Texas fans do with Beevo...where's the harm in that?

You mean all drugged up? Bevo is so medicated, he's never even booed.

Another post above said to dart Mike. I'm wondering how many people it would take to shove a passed out 800 lb. Tiger into a cage.

I say they should just pull a ball of yarn in front of him until he walks into the cage. Then bring him to the stadium and do whatever it takes to make him roar.

Bevo doesn't actually "run" onto the field. He's is positioned in the south endzone during the game. I'd love to see him lead the team onto the field the way Colorado does with Ralphie, but I know that ain't happening anytime soon. One thing that UT does that I wish LSU could do with Mike, is take him to selected big games that are away from home. Bevo goes every year to the UT/OU game in Dallas. He also goes to every bowl game I believe. I know he was at the Rose Bowl both times.

I seem to recall that LSU wanted to bring Mike to the national championship game in 2003, but the Sugar Bowl sponsors objected, claiming that his cage would block of view of some fans. LSU left him at home, but OU showed up with that damn Sooner Scooner anyway.

The Colorado Buffalo "ruthie" is best mascot when she runs on field.

From what I've heard (no links, just word of mouth) is that the mascots can't get near him when they are suited up. It's too stressful on Mike (what the trainers say), even though it makes him growl some.

back in the 90's, a vet student told me that they didn't feed Mike on his regular time gamedays to make him grumpy and roar. considering that tigers in the wild sometimes go a week without eating, i does'nt seem that cruel.

I've heard stories that they used to bring him to Tulane all the time, but there was an accident on the interstate on time, that put an end to it.

Also, (again only a story I've heard) some Tulane students let Mike out of that cage one time as a prank. Found him roaming around and had to trank him.

I'll preface this with the fact that I love animals, especially tigers, so yall will probably disagree with me...but I don't really think it's right to hold off feeding Mike just to make him roar. They go without food for longer periods of time in the wild, but then again, they're also free.

Just my opinion.

If people were real fans of LSU, they would let us feed their children to Mike.

I really don't quite understand this idea. Floatation tires would handle any turf related trouble,no?(Yes, there really is such a thing as "floatation" tires. I just think rutting the field would not be an issue.

The TV stations drive the sideline camera back and forth on the sidelines in rain and it dosen't seem to cause any ruts in the ground

The university should incorporate Mike's exhibit into the stadium and enclose him on the field side during home games.

Not tigers, but I like Tropicana's idea for the Ray's mascots...
