Among the many sad thoughts, I think of the guy they called the "tiger whisperer."

Mike would recognize me when I visited and usually come to the glass, but he could be lying down on his porch at the back of the habitat and come running every time the guy came around.

The guy said that his relationship with Mike lifted his spirits and saved him from suicide.

If he were around, you know Mike's illness and impending death would bring him out.

I hope the best for the man and hope if he is no longer among the living, his transition was a peaceful one.

You're right. People just want their pet in cage, so they can gauk at him when ever they feel like. It just an animal. Throw another one in the cage...
