Miles was NEVER going to change the offense, not even going to make "tweaks". Anyone who thought he was had their head in the sand the last 5 years.

I am NOT a Miles apologist but it was NOT a mistake to keep Miles after last season unless Jimbo was a lock.

The MISTAKE was Miles not making any changes to the offense in the off season. Anything less than winning the West this season is unacceptable and he should be let go.

but that was why we couldn't keep miles. he was never going to make any changes. he even said as much after the atm game. remember "the engine is still strong" comment? those of screaming from the rooftops for him to be fired last year knew this.

I wish people would stop blaming the media for our coaching & administrative incompetence. Stop placing blame on others for this shite show we have going on. It's getting old now...

How long have you been seeing teams bring everyone in the box?

If LSU goes on a run I wonder if opinions will be the same?

Agreed. If everyone thought like that the NFL would be over for 16 teams after week 1. If LSU players thought like that, they won't just need to get rid of the coach, but the players, too. A more reasonable goal is to be in a New Year's six bowl game which is still on the table. IMO, after watching some of these top teams play last week, everything is on the table.

You can afford to drop multiple games in the NFL and still be a legitimate contender. Anything more than one loss in college you are usually out of the picture. LSU had some serious expectations this season and they have already used up their mulligan.

They won't say that it is sloppy execution which irritates me.

Our team looks like a team that doesn't practice

Well that wasn't the shite they were saying last November when they were ripping LSU for even considering letting Miles go.

ESPN is in the entertainment (ratings) business just like most other news organizations. Everyone stares at a dumpster fire, so their narrative last year was helping increase ratings (fan the flames). Their narrative today (season is over) is once again attempting to increase ratings.

While the season is not technically over (and I do not wish for LSU to lose), it will be Miles' greatest trick yet to survive this season.

If you watch/read any media with the entire understanding that their whole purpose is to keep you watching/reading them, you can usually see the BS.

Season is over? Not so fast cowboy. How many undefeated national champs have we seen lately?

So they're saying what LSU fans were saying last year. Nice hard hitting on the ball reporting, ESPN.

It was Finebaum doing the criticizing, not M&M. And he was just doing what he always does, stirring up shite. Clark was sincerely sad almost. Finebaum is now recognized as an "expert" on college football according to M&M. But one thing he did say that made sense was that "CLM basically wasted the off season" as far as getting ready for this season.

FWIW, Finebaum was singing our praises during the offseason. He predicted that we would blow out Wisconsin and he picked LSU to challenge Alabama in the West. He was very complimentary.

I think that all of that was dependent upon the basic idea that Miles would change what needed to be changed. Very few actually thought that he would not change a thing. It is mind-boggling, actually. So, Finebaum has adjusted, and rightly so.

Miles is done. It doesn't matter if he runs the table. It will only be because he changed during the season and is still stubborn as can be, wasted the off season, and basically had the reigns taken from him. Either way, he doesn't need to be the coach.
