You're going to burn a freshman QB's redshirt so he can be a 3rd string package player?

I'd prefer to have our starting QB next year have some actual game time under his helmet. IIRC the devil said he wished he had burned Flynn or Jamarcus's redshirt in 03 so he wouldn't have had the shite show we had at QB in 04. I am a believer in that thought process.

Surprised to see ZM and AJ stats. Geaux Cam!

Rivers > Jennings.

Sure didn't look that way yesterday. Jennings was more accurate and they love his mobility.

I'm weary of arguing the attributes of Mett, but suffice to say that he is very far from a mediocre college QB. He is the best QB we've had at LSU since Jamarcus. He WILL make an NFL roster and will probably start in the NFL for a year or two at least.

that's quite a leap of faith from what we have see so far on the field. Last year he showed all the attributes of being a mediocre college QB and wasn't even an improvement over the JJ/JL combo. But with new coaching and a smarter offense and a year in the SEC to get up to speed he should look like a different player this year.

TD's of 47(Landry), 36(ODB), and a screen that went 47(Hill).

We would have, but what's-his-name sucked. If you could just see those two standing next to each other and throwing ten yard outs you'd never even think such a foolish thing again.

Randall sucked? That's news to me

Rivers is not good enough to start for LSU and win a NC

I'm ready to go out on a limb and say Jennings will play this year and be the #2 qb.

ditto.

Kid is the truth. Some people (me included ) have been saying this since he verbally committed. He's going to be a good one. Very accurate, great pocket presence, and always keeps his eyes downfield.

If AJ is looking to be the starter next year post-Mett, we should ABSOLUTELY burn his redshirt to get him big game experience if he can help us win games.

Rettig redshirts and we are set at QB for years. Rivers never looked good to me. Too lanky and awkward and never has the the tight zipping spiral that other QBs toss around. I've seen him dead duck wayyyyy more passes than Mett in practices and scrimmages and we AJ throws a gorgeous ball in his small sample of highlights.

Rivers is Marcus Randall. He's not good and everyone needs to accept it.

What have you seen in his play up to now that leads you to make this comment?
