We went to a McNeese game one Sat night when LSU was off, there was a ton of P&G at the game. McNeese is nothing at all like USL. I think that McNeese is why USL went to D1, because they got tired of the Cowboys kicking their butt.

Truth I love McNeese its my true hometown team and the college I went to but I have been an LSU fan since I was a kid and will be pulling for my tigers while hoping McNeese plays a respectable game that can crossover to a great season in the Southland Conference.

As a LSU Grad/Fan and as a McNeese fan, the ideal result for the weekend is:

1. Fun tailgating, boozing, eating, partying

2. LSU leads a commanding victory

3. McNeese shows grit and gives a respectable fight. Scores another TD on offense (Something ULL has never accomplished.)

4. No injuries on either side

5. Everybody goes home happy

Back in the early 80's I attended McNeese and they thought back then they could beat LSU. They are proud of their school and team but LSU will beat them as badly as they like. If the Tigers let up to save players then this may only be a 4 TD win but if the Tigers want to crank it up it could be like the SFA game last year.

I had the opposite happen Oct 11, 1997 whilst tailgating. We laughed when some opposing fans in blue & orange told us we had a shot at beating them that day. And they were serious. Its like they knew what was about to happen and we just couldnt see it.

But this mcneese thing is just....we could tell mcneese we are going to run the ball every play and still win big.

There are a few like that.

No big deal though.

We are proud of our school and team, and we'll bring a great respectful crowd that also enjoys the fact that football is back. There is a large contingent of our fanbase that are LSU fans. There are few that are in fact still wearing purple and gold and cheering for LSU. That's fine. Beating LSU doesn't do much for us in the long run. Sure, it'd be an awesome win for our program, and I never expect McNeese to go lay down against in anyone. But winning our conference and going to the playoffs is the number 1 goal, and the LSU game will have little effect on either.

Correct. I'm a MSU Alum...but I bleed P&G. MSU beating LSU hurts LSU more than MSU losing to LSU does...no way am I delusional enough to believe MSU has the manpower to hang 4 quarters with LSU. I pull for MSU in every game...except when they play LSU.

I'm a fan of LSU every other day of the year, except when they Play McNeese. Just can't do it. I graduated from the school, that is who I support when the two come together.

And I have the same mindset about this game as the guy said earlier: we have bigger fish to fry this season. I'd be happier with an SLC title and a National Championship than beating LSU.

We can beat LSU and go 1-11: what good does that do us?

Does anyone believe App St moved up because they beat Michigan? I sure don't. They dominated on the FCS level, and made the move up. Western Kentucky never beat anyone relevant, but they had a solid program at the FCS level, and moved up. Same thing with Georgia Southern.

North Dakota State has won 4 National Titles. They won 2 of those before beating Kansas State in 2013, which is easily the best FBS team they have defeated.

So anyone that tries to tell me that beating FBS schools is what elevates your program, please, review the history of FCS Champions and find where beating a Major FBS team has done anything for them.

McNeese is not all of a sudden going to start stealing 4 and 5 star talent by beating LSU. Beating LSU does not win us the Conference. Beating LSU does not get us into the Playoffs.

Would it be great? Sure. But at the end of the day, there are bigger fish to fry than LSU.
