There are a few like that.

No big deal though.

We are proud of our school and team, and we'll bring a great respectful crowd that also enjoys the fact that football is back. There is a large contingent of our fanbase that are LSU fans. There are few that are in fact still wearing purple and gold and cheering for LSU. That's fine. Beating LSU doesn't do much for us in the long run. Sure, it'd be an awesome win for our program, and I never expect McNeese to go lay down against in anyone. But winning our conference and going to the playoffs is the number 1 goal, and the LSU game will have little effect on either.

but this would be greater than the App St. over Michigan game from a few years back.

Michigan was ranked #5 when they were upset by App St.

Good lord saves us all. No sane McNeese fan thinks they have a legitimate shot at winning. They will be ecstatic with a 14 point loss and happy with a loss in the 20-28 point range.

Tiger fans on the other hand, not so much.

Props to that guy. I respect fans and teams that expect to play well and win.

I don't think McNeese is supposed to be that great this year anyway.

They're ranked #23 in FCS.

I think their near upset of Nebraska and LSU's poor qb play from last year gives them a little optimism. IF LSU is not ready to play McNeese will give them all they want, but if the Tigers play to their ability it will be 20+ point win.

Many of the McNeese fans will travel from SW Louisiana to enjoy the game and enjoy watching both teams play.

Thats actually lower than their usual pre-season ranking. McNeese generally has a solid team. I can still remember the loss to Youngstown St. in Chattanooga..

ASU vs UM....it can happen on any given day if you don't show up and perform.

I actually think the game will be more like the 32-10 win like in 2010 more than a 56-7 type win also.

Les usually "secures victory" then sits on the lead anyway.

As an LSU alum living in LC, I agree with all of this. That said....I've also heard and read some really really dumb shite this week!

I looked around earlier this week and saw they weren't in the top 25 in some polls but I see some now that have them ranked. They are usually around the top 15.

I hope there aren't 1,000 fans walking around campus Saturday thinking that McNeese has a legit shot at winning this game.

Why not? What would it hurt for them to think they're going to win?

In these openers sometimes the little guys hang tough with the big boys. Hell they've had MONTHS to prepare mentally. Like the game against Wisconsin, IMO ,if that was a week to week game there's no way they run like they did against our defense.
But this will not be an Appalachian St / Mich game.

A lot of students at schools have this mentality. Southeastern is the worst though. I went there and worked for program and still hated how students really believed the team was better than LSU's
