Derenbecker is not a Blue chip recruit but the fact that he is leaving the team makes TJ look bad.

How many players left the team for personal matters in one year? Seriously folks! I hope all is well for him but this excuse it being used too many times now.

- Thomas Robinson lost his mother and grandmother in one months time but he stayed at Kansas.

I know everyone is different but what was so bad that Matt had to leave the team?

While there isn't much to be happy about regarding LSU basketball, this thread shouldn't be a Trent bashing thread.

Ultimately he is the one responsible.....This guy is an absolute joke, he couldn't recruit his way out of a paper bag.

I know. lol

I was just stating my own opinion on the matter.

I think losing one player for "personal reasons" is bad, but two in one off-season?

TJ gotta go! NOW!

Actually, he got the paper bag to commit to LSU but after one season it decided to leave the team and head back to Winn Dixie for next season.

The only thing I can say is that with the freshmen coming in someone had to go regardless of any situation (never wished anything on any players).

Everybody on the team last year had at least one year of eligibility left. With the freshmen coming in, that would be a total of 15 scholarship players on the team. The NCAA only allows 13.

So it looks like we are currently back to 12 scholarship players.

Wouldn't be surprised if 4/5's of our starters are new faces

I've just about lost all hope for TJ. I was a supporter when they hired him and I defended him last year, but he hasn't shown anything since the SEC Championship.

His recruiting classes have been putrid and this summer we lost a starter and a role player from a team that already lacked depth.

so since last season we've lost

Populist (our best backup PG by all accounts)
Dotson (one of our most experienced guys)
Green (senior/big body depth down low)
Derenbecker (contender for a starting spot)

Yeah but the first 3 are not SEC caliber.

I forgot about Dotson. I was thinking about Derenbecker and Green.

Plus Gathers is going out of state too. Louisiana hasn't been producing recruits lately, so TJ needs to lock down the ones we do put out.

It's looking like this may be TJ's last year, unless TAF and Alleva are content with a terrible to mediocre basketball program.

the numbers are alarming almost a brady type clip going on here but not a huge loss of talent. I dont like the we lost derenbeckers experience and I think he would be a good role guy.

green was basically five fouls and some missed lay ups unless he got on a small streak like last year.

dotson never lived up to his hype

populist is pop
