I never liked Richt, but that doesn't mean he's not a good coach. He is. If he'd be willing to come here, I would take him, but he needs to leave his bad juju of injuries in Athens.

Alleva is basically this guy right now:

He is not going to be able to tell Miles to do jack shite at this moment.

I can't see Richt taking the job unless assurances were in place giving him control of the offense. In fact, any OC worth his salt, would want those assurances before taking this gig with Les.

Surely we can make this happen. Miles is banned from the offensive meetings, and gets a dead headset on game days. Richt on the sidelines calling plays and talking to QB between plays.

Miles seriously would be better off going the Joe Paterno/Bobby Bowden route and just doing interviews and being a figurehead of the program, but leave the x's and o's to somebody younger and hungrier.

Hopefully Les has been jerked around enough to realize he needs to relinquish some control, but probably not. A real OC with some real influence would be too good to be true.

And ESPN radio just reported Richt as saying he would be interested in discussing ANY coaching position. This thread is bubbling with optimism, but we're probably kidding ourselves.

Please let this happen. This would make all the misery I was prepared for with LSU next year to go away.
