I agree. He's the perfect match. The other said they wouldn't get along.. I completely disagree. He is the exact offense LSU would love to have and he is big enough of a figure I believe Miles would have to let him run the show... especially given he would bring in a tremendous QB to LSU.. and has the best chance to fix the qb issues.. all the while still featuring a great running game..

They should really pony up for him. He may prefer OC'ing for a little while.. Rebuilding as a HC somewhere else after being fired would take a lot of time.. Just enjoy the offensive side for a little while.

He would be a perfect fit. Has character and went out of Georgia respectfully. Him and Miles will get along and like someone else said earlier, Miles may give more control of the offense to him and let him be more hands on.

And, Richt would have the balls to spar with Miles on game plans.

I can't see Richt taking the job unless assurances were in place giving him control of the offense. In fact, any OC worth his salt, would want those assurances before taking this gig with Les.

Wow, what an opportunity. GET THAT MAN HERE AS AN OC!! Could bring in a lot of recruits, possibly bring Pruitt along as DC (I am hoping we get him regardless). What are your thoughts?

I'll wait to see what DALSU has to say.

Very true. But could Miles handle that?

After ALMOST getting let go, Miles may let someone take over.

I agree with this, but there will be discussions (ahem, disagreements) about the offense in coaches meetings. There is no such thing as a blank check to an OC over an offense. The offensive gameplan has to fit with the overall game plan (offense, defense and special teams) and that's Miles job. I'm talking about expected disagreements about strategy, and Richt would have the fortitude to defend his position rather than roll over.

How awesome would Richt and Les be? Doubt he takes an OC job though.

I agree. If anything Richt has his coaching reputation to maintain. Despite being fired at Georgia he was successful there and was a top notch OC at FSU. A guy like that is not going to allow himself to be diminished in any way.

I actually believe CMR would mesh perfectly with both Coach Miles and our specific needs. He's a good, honorable man whose expertise at coaching happens to be what we need most. I've no idea if it's remotely feasible but it's almost like providence has dropped the opportunity into our lap.

Which is precisely why he won't.

I honestly think that Richt and Miles would have similar offensive game plans, but Richt would actually be able to execute what Miles wants, which has been lacking with all other OCs. I look at Georgia's offenses, and I see heavy on RBs, play action, taking shots..all with QB development.

I really do think Miles wants to pass more, but we just can't.

And UGA runs screen passes like they invented them.

Help me. I can't tell if this was a positive or negative on Richt. sounds negative, but not sure. I'd like to see more screen passes at LSU.

That was a compliment. UGA's screen game is run to perfection. Timing, execution, etc. They would call probably 2-3 screen passes every game.

See 2003 LSU-UGA (round 1) for example.

Exactly my thought. We see different play calls (not much, but enough) that can help us in the passing game. However, its either Harris not delivering, WRs dropping passes, or O-line whiffing their blocks. Richt could get our offense rolling and I believe Miles would like it because it involves basically the packages we have (Strong RBs, play action, etc)
