I would just love to see us get the best offensive mind available, and a guy that will bring the program a great sense of pride back, and still manage to maintain a culture of great defenses as well.
so you prefer Briles, Patterson, and Kelly over a guy like Jimbo because they would restore an offensive identity and still maintain a great defense?

Dude, do you have any clue with which you speak of?

Briles and defense? Hell no
Chip Kelly and defense? Hell no
Gary Patterson and defense? Have you seen his defenses in recent years?

Jimbo fits every criteria you can imagine for the LSU job. And if you throw in the title that he won, he's already a leg up on those 3 guys.

My point is Fisher has steam rolled through a conference of shitty teams and his magical dominant season wasn't in the same stratosphere schedule wise as any of LSU's much less the 2011 season. Losing by 40 points in a playoff game.....His numbers and accolades are inflated and I'm not sold on him being more than a hugh freeze 2.0 in the SEC.

How many ranked teams did that 2013 FSU team beat in the regular season?

3. And they beat them by a score of 155-28. Clemson was the highest at #3 when they beat them 51-14. Clemson finished ranked #7.

Yeah, they were so shitty that they beat Bama and Lord Saban (something Miles has been unable to do since 21-0).

So Fisher's most impressive career victory came against an overrated 2 loss Clemson team with a defense that wasn't even in the TOP 60 nationally. #ACC #CHAMPS #WEWANTJIMBAW

FyI, they beat Auburn in that game, not Bama. Thought I'd say it before someone jumped on you.

you do know that its possible to get Briles, and have him get a DC . a DC that can get the job done. the SEC is considerably different than the big 12

No, I'm referring to Auburn. He said they were the shittiest SEC representative ever in the title game (and possibly so...though they didn't have 2 losses...I kid). I was saying that they were so shitty that they beat Saban (and ran for 296 yards against Saban's D).

Yeah your post made it look like you were saying FSU beat Bama. The fact that auburn team kick 6'd Bama that year is irrelevant

For those of you harping on the fact that FSU beat Auburn by less than LSU in 2013, you should also recall that Jimbo beat the very same Clemson team which defeated Miles in the Peach Bowl. I believe that is the only time that Miles and Fisher have had different results against a common opponent.

Miami finished the season unranked

Saw that one coming. You're so predictable.

Did Florida finish 2011 ranked? Did Auburn?

Bottom line--Yeah, LSU has had a harder schedule, but you're making it sound like LSU is playing NFL teams while FSU is playing high school teams-and that's just stupid. The competition in this conference is SLIGHTLY better, but it's not night and day like you suggest. It's all still power 5 football, and Jimbo and FSU have done a lot better handling theirs than Les and LSU have done with theirs.

But please keep coming with the laugh emojis--makes you look smart.

I think this hire needs to bring a new culture here that's been absent for many years. A new standard that's never been seen here before

What exactly do you expect by a "new standard that's never been seen here before". LSU has been been in the NC conversation more often than not every season since 2003. LSU and their fan's expectations are so ridiculously high, that the powers that be are getting ready to fork over $15 million to buy out the coach with the best winning percentage in program history. Furthermore Miles has accomplished that record in an era when the SEC, and especially the SEC West has achieved unparalleled domination of college football. So tell me, what are your expectations of "the standard"?

quote:

One of Miles shitty teams that people want him fired for beat this same (Auburn) team by double digits.

So now we want to fire Miles for the 2013 team that was probably the most balanced offense in the history of SEC football? Really?

Look, I'd take a victory over Bama any kind of way possible. But the fact that Auburn ran for 296 yards against their "rival" and and averaged 5.7 ypc showed that they were no joke. They were lucky as hell, but explosive too. For comparison, LSU hasn't run for 296 yards against Bama in the last three games combined with Jeremy Hill and Leonard Fournette in multiple games.

The fact that LSU's schedule in 2011 was slightly tougher than FSU's in 2013 is irrelevant

The acc is weak. If LSU was 7-0 and lost to a 2-5 Georgia tech team, the rant would want him fired.

Arkansas last year and this year? GT beat them on a fluke play and we got waxed 6 times the past 2 years. Which would you rather?

No, his most impressive career victory was beating Auburn (the team of destiny) in the BCS Championship Game to finish 14-0 ending the SEC dominance in the championship game.

Yeah but luck counts, the trophy is still in the case. Luck beats good planning every time.
