Comparing college to MLB.

Agreed. That's a suspect analogy.

With that being stated, there are fewer than 30 of the 300 D1 baseball programs with even a remote shot at winning the CWS each year.

Over the last 15 years 12 different schools have won it.

coach of year really that's really impressive guess he can shine it up with the rest, but bottom line is he still throws players under the bus,and he is running out of excuses for failing again.

Was that not the case during Skip's years?

Another thinking reaching the CWS in todays highly competitive college baseball equates to "failing again" needs to check in with their mental health provider cause they clearly have gone off their meds.

Failed to make seemingly straight forward decisions on the biggest stage as one of the highest paid coaches in the nation.

How many coaches have bettered 4 CWS trips since 07 and have 3 Coach of the yr. awards and a NC?

Less than the number who wouldn't have fricked up game 3 like he did.

ell_13, were you the finalist who lost to Mainieri for the head coaching job in '06? Bitter much?

I was extremely happy. Then the post season happened. I even defended and applauded PM a few times leading up to the regional.

What you described is called a front runner.

You mean when I defended him for not trying to win the SECT? Or when I defended him for starting Poche in game 1? Before and after the loss?

Do you know what a from runner is? Has nothing to do with calling a good decision good and a bad decision bad. It would mean I stopped being a fan when we didn't make the post season in 2007 or 2011. Or that I only start to care about the team once they hit the last 3rd of the season and I know they're winning.

PM sucked it up at the end. He failed. He put it on everyone other than himself. Refute those if you can.

And FWIW, D1Baseball, who now employs the old editors from Baseball America and Perfect Game, waited till after the CWS to pick their coach of the year.

They went with O'Conner.

Otherwise, it's just a regular season award.

You are a fricking idiot.

The LSU pitchers gave up an average of nine runs, ten hits, and five walks per world series loss and you want to drop that shite performance on a coach.

Mainieri must be banging your woman.

Yes. He made terrible decisions that he couldn't even explain. Then he goes on to blame losing on the players specifically power pitching... Yet that's exactly what he had in 2013 and he fricked that up too. What was his excuse then? Bregman's error? Ralph hitting into double plays? Give me a break. Sheep.
