Miles failed to hire a qualified Def coordinator last year and Maineri failed to hire a def coordinator ( pitching coach ) for the baseball. The only coach on the team who has actual pitching experience at this level is student assistanc Kyle Beerbohm. However many baseball people think that some of the best pitching coaches are former catchers of which we have at least three on the staff!

lets see,

friday, we had great pitching, but only scored 1 run

saturday, pitching wasnt good, but we put up 22, so its moot

sunday, outside of paul bertuccini, our pitching was just fine, and we only scored 2 runs

not to mention, the 2 erros on friday and sunday

seems to me defense and lack of hitting cost us this series

yeah looks like you didn't research before you posted

Maineri had alot of success with Grewe at ND

It's difficult for pitchers to keep shifting between pitching coaches that have different styles

Well, he was an outfielder for LSU, and an infielder for UNO in his playing days. And it's "Mainieri" to you, mister!

especially when they post on the Rant and get put in the place almost immediately. It's entertaining, to say the least.

The pitchers have been doing a good job so far this season, but I think bringing in a pitching coach that has never been a pitching coach is a mistake. Grewe coached hitters prior to coming to LSU. That’s like an offensive coordinator getting the defensive coordinator job because he is buddies with the head coach. I hope it works out.

OR, like an ex-linebacker and LB coach that wasn't good enough to hack it in the pro's, being hired to coach a posotion he's never played because he's buddies with the new defensive coordinator. Yeah, hope it works out. Keep your fingers crossed.........

Other than Big Ben, name me one big-time pitcher that we had during the 5 NC's in the 90's? We've never been a pitcher's team. I would like to have dominant pitching but if we're hoping for Gorilla ball, that had nothing to do with pitching?

If anything out pitching has been excpetional this season I dont understand your point.

Raunaldo looks like a MLB pitcher
Ott makes batters look stupid
Ross was not all that great last year and now he is a very good pitcher.
Coleman is exceptional
and we have a bunch of freshman that are suprising everyone.
