Poor Jacksonville, they’ll wonder what’s wrong with the big guy for the next 4 years.

Right. Because that billion dollar org doesn’t know how to evaluate talent/investments.

Stick to your day job.

Based solely on potential, I didn’t see him getting drafted until tomorrow

I think it was Jacksonville that had a guy in the FO that used their credit card to spend tens of millions of dollars on cars and trips

No shite

And that will likely be more productive than what they spend on 0

Love this for all the people that couldn’t see plain as day that he is talented as hell and was a big loss.

A position coach wouldn't have stopped him from getting manhandled by lineman that will never sniff the nfl.

2.5 sacks and 28 tackles(1.5 sacks and 11 tackles come from the last 3 games of the season) is pretty bad for a defense that was literally on the field more than 106 other defenses. We were 107th in opponents time of possession.

People say this a lot but forget he has nice tape from his freshman season

3 of his 4 sacks were in 1 game against mcneese. That was his great tape as a freshman. I'm happy he got drafted but his time at lsu was wildly underwhelming due to injury, and lack of production when he did play. I would've love to have seen him play without that freak injury. Probably an entirely different story.....

As a jags fan I am kinda underwhelmed with the pick but if Maason can get totally healthy and put some work in he can definitely contribute. Jags dline is total arse anyway our tackles just flat out suck and any push up the middle will be welcomed. I am pulling for Maason and BTJ. The two tigers in Jacksonville so LFG!!

teaching physical freaks technique is exactly what a position coach does.

HE WON’T BE DRAFTED

I have to be honest, to the best of my recollection, I've never seen a 2nd round pick do less. But when it comes to the NFL, I've seen them take crazy chances on many guys just based on their physical traits. Many are busts and never make the team or quickly go away, but every once in a while, it works out.

This one will be interesting to follow. I personally don't get this pick, but he did go through a lot, so let's see if he can make them look like geniuses.

Just proves the Jaguars are absolutely clueless in how to build a winner. They draft a player that hasn't shown a pulse in two years in the second round when you could have drafted Wingo, who has a nonstop motor and film to back it up. Maason doesn't have enough energy or drive to beat out the waterboy!

Figured 3-4 round. That is higher than anyone expected. It’s a gamble. Hope it works out.
