Not really.

I'm on the play-it-now-or-play-it-never bandwagon. Don't care where or at what time, but if we are going to play Troy, I want to do it this weekend. Not our Novemeber bye weekend. If we can't get things in place by Saturday night to play elsewhere, I would just as soon cancel the game completely. I remember 2005 when we played for something like 10 weeks straight...all the way into the SECCG when we got jacked up. No way we lose that game with some rest in between. Look at how that same LSU team played against Miami in the Peach Bowl with a months worth of rest. Miami wasn't that much worse than Georgia that year...Georgia even lost to WVU in the Sugar Bowl.

waiting on call back now. she should have called back, but I know this girl well and the only reason she hasn't called bcak is bc she hasnt got in touch with aunt, which would make sense bc if this is a possibilty her aunt is probably swamped in meetings
dude give it up, this game is NOT getting played in the Dome.

Ok, but there is just too much money to be lost by canceling...plus Troy wants that payout...and I wonder if playing one less game would hurt us in the polls...especially the computer polls...

Fair assessment, but a loss to Arkansas or Ole Miss (gulp...remember they always play us well--it's there superbowl), or, more likely, in the SECCG will hurt worse.

LSU-Troy game postponed until November
Eds: APNewsNow. WILL be UPDATED.
By BRETT MARTEL
AP Sports Writer
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU has postponed its football game
against Troy after Hurricane Gustav rolled through Louisiana this
week.
A person with direct knowledge of athletic scheduling at LSU
told The Associated Press the Tigers' game versus the Trojans will
be played Nov. 15. The person spoke on condition of anonymity
because the team had not been formally notified yet.
LSU has scheduled a press conference for 3 p.m. EDT.
LSU's football team met at the Tigers' on-campus training center
Tuesday afternoon, then went ahead with practice.
Gustav caused some damage at Tiger Stadium, including broken
glass and torn awnings over club seats. Debris littered the stands
and playing field.

I agree with CHicken, don't assume we will roll over Troy by 40 points. I think the game will be close if we played this weekend. Hopefully if it gets moved to Nov. 15 our QBs will have improved enough to score the amount of points we'll need to beat them.

Eeek...Well, then I suppose if I had to pick one, I'd rather play in Novemeber. Troy right before Florida sounds really bad for a lot of reasons.

right...the play on Oct 7...Tuesday...it is on TV...no way they move that.

Plus, we would not want to play a game on Oct 4, before the Florida game.

your logic was severely flawed. saying we would have won the 05 SECCG with a week extra rest is pure speculation. and any discussion about us beating Miami and WVU beating UGA is childish, who played who nonsense. Moving this game means more financially than you could imagine. LSU would not only lose out on the concession money and tickets to troy fans, but would likely have to refund all season ticket holders. it makes no sense to cancel the game just cause some dumb frick fan thinks we would have won it all in 05 if we had an extra bye week

Not to mention that the Baton Rouge economy that depends on home games would be up in arms...
