if they move it to the dome, they can likely work out a deal where they just give SMG concession money. moving it to Troy will never happen-

LSU is telling its employees that the game is cancelled for this weekend. The LSU Ag Center chancellor has sent out an email notifying employees that Athletic Dept. has told them game will NOT be played saturday and will be postponed.

BATON ROUGE - The LSU-Troy football game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed, sources at Troy and LSU confirmed Wednesday

LSU officials will make an announcement at a 2 p.m. press conference. The schools are making plans to move the game to Nov. 15, a common open date for both.

Most of Baton Rouge is still without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav. Also,Tiger Stadium received some minor damage and is still without electricity.

Personally I would rather them play at Troy so we can have that open date late in the year to heal and rest up.

Thanks, Chicken!! I'm glad that you and many others here are okay. As much as I wanted to watch a game this weekend, it is much more important to take care of the needs of the people of the state to help them with their power and clean up as well as making some needed repairs to LSU.

Chicken - have you heard if LSU planning on setting up a fund like they did with Katrina? If you do, please post on here.
Thanks again for all the hard work you do to maintain this site.

waiting on call back now. she should have called back, but I know this girl well and the only reason she hasn't called bcak is bc she hasnt got in touch with aunt, which would make sense bc if this is a possibilty her aunt is probably swamped in meetings

If they were contemplating playing the Saints game on Sunday in the dome, which is on Sunday. Then I doubt seriously Nagin and city officials will allow LSU on Sat. Besides, what do you do with 10,000 people who have tickets that you don't ahve room for?

I don't think they would expect a full house...but it appears that it will be moved to Nov...

Filling in open date before Ole Miss and Arkansas isn't awful. We should be able to rest anyone that really needs it for the Tulane game two weeks before and for the Troy game. Healthy players should only have to play 2-3 quarters before wrapping it up. Biggest problem is 4 less quarters of experince for Hatch and Lee before Auburn.
