If LSU were to play USC would you see it as a Southern Pride game, or just a regular game?

I would see it as a "who is really the class program of college football" type of game.

And I think LSU would win the game handily

i think its funny that we have this huge rivalry with them and haven't gotten to play them...it sucks bc the last two seasons it looked like there was a chance...

It's the game everyone wants to see but may not get to for the foreseeable future.

The only time LSU v USC would have been relevant is in January of 2004. WTF Southern Pride means, I have no clue.

I don't know if that will ever happen because LSU may have to play only six or seven home games one year. Remember, it's all about money now and not necessarily great competition. I for one would like to let the Appalachian St., Troy, North Texas games go away. Start the season with one of those and that is it. Lets play mid-level teams in major conferences home and away. This would be great for the fans. This would also give somethng back to the players for their work.

Same here.

Following the bitterness tween the fan bases after the '03 debacle, the two programs have had a lot of parallels that keep us in contention with them- such as top recruiting classes, in the hunt for the NC game, etc.

Them plucking a top recruit from La. didn't help matters.

Right, look who has the lame OOC schedule the last couple of years...the one the coaches can directly control...and now you see that the hat fears.

Well, first of all I wouldn't use last year's OOC as a comparison though the year before USC probably had the strongest OOC schedule.

Furthermore, how many top 25 teams did USC play last year compared to LSU? Final polls. Nothing more needs to be said as far as overall SOS so put dat in ya pipe....

this would be terrible for the players and true tiger fans.

it's a lot better to play USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma in January than September.
